ASEAN Summit, Indonesia Succeeds in Leading ASEAN Countries in Providing Positive Solutions for the World

Labuan Bajo – President Jokowi closed the 42nd ASEAN Summit on Thursday (11/5). Even though several new agreements have been produced, the President reminded that without commitment and hard work it would be difficult to achieve this.

The President also emphasized that ASEAN countries should continue to unite so that the Southeast Asian region has a significant role. This is because the President considers that the world is currently in an unpredictable situation and has not fully recovered.

“I’m sure we all believe ASEAN can, as long as one key is unity,” he explained.

Furthermore, in the press conference President Jokowi also explained that ASEAN is important and relevant to the region and the world. Because of this, ASEAN will continue to contribute to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific.

Not only contributing to security stability alone, ASEAN is also expected to be able to maintain economic growth.

ASEAN, added President Jokowi, continues to work on implementing local currency transactions and digital payment connectivity between countries agreed to be strengthened.

“Implementation of local currency transactions is in line with the aim of ASEAN centrality, Southeast Asian countries to become strong and independent,” the president added.

Not to forget, the President also invited all the leaders of ASEAN countries to jointly make ASEAN a center of world economic growth.

In a separate place, Chair of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) Arsjad Rasjid emphasized that ASEAN will become the center of stability and the world economy in 2045.

In his written statement, Arsjad assessed that various processes in this direction would be compiled in a roadmap to realize ASEAN as a growth center that innovates towards greater inclusivity, such as strengthening centrality, utilizing innovative solutions, to advocating inclusivity to increase regional resilience.

“ASEAN-BAC together with partners continues to innovate in preparing the roadmap so that ASEAN will become a stable, peaceful region and become the center of stability and the world economy in 2045,” said Arsjad.

In addition, he explained that the government represents the regional business sector, ASEAN-BAC continues to make ASEAN an area that upholds inclusive values ​​for everyone to continue to grow together.
