BIN Supports Human Resource Development in Papua Through PMI and PYCH

Papua – The State Intelligence Agency (BIN) continues to support and encourage the progress of human resources (HR) in the Land of Papua through coaching youth organizations, namely the Inspiring Young Papua (PMI), including by supporting the construction of the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building which aims to increase the potential of the young generation of Papua.

As one of the Indonesian Government’s efforts to support the role of the younger generation in managing Papua’s economic potential, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is currently completing the construction of PYCH. The construction of PYCH is a follow-up to the meeting between President Jokowi and Young Papuan Inspiring Leaders in September 2019 at the State Palace.

After the meeting with the Inspiring Young Papuan Leaders, the Central Government gave full support to the development of a creativity center to provide a much larger portion of space for all young people in Papua and West Papua in developing technology, innovation and several local Papuan products.

President Jokowi stated that it is undeniable that there are many excellent talent with excellent talent in Papua and West Papua, both in the fields of science, arts and culture, and in the field of sports, and it is the big task of all parties to prepare good talent management to organize , this is where PYCH will play a role.

For information, the PYCH building will be managed and implemented by a youth organization under the auspices of BIN, namely PMI, where they together with BIN will continue to check the readiness of the PYCH building before it will be inaugurated directly by President Jokowi on 15 March 2023.

Deputy IV for Economic Intelligence at BIN, I Made Kartikajaya, said that the construction progress of the PYCH Building had reached 99.9 percent and President Jokowi would soon inaugurate it.

He added that through the PYCH building, PMI will carry out various forms of work programs that they have, which of course has the main aim of being able to improve the welfare of the people in Papua. not only that, but PMI itself will also continue to increase collaboration with various parties, also continue to carry out self-development and continue to strive to become the engine of human resource development for the younger generation of Cendrawasih Earth.

During the inspection, I Made Kartikajaya was accompanied by the Head of the BIN Logistics Bureau, Brigadier General Tony Kurniawan, Director of Planning and Control of Operations Deputy IV Wagiyo Raharjo and his staff. As well as, PMI Papua Region Coordinator, Neil Aiwoy and Secretary Vitha Faidiban.

Meanwhile, PMI Secretary for the Papua region Vitha Faidiban expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo and the Head of BIN General Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan for the construction of the PYCH building. PMI stated that the construction of the building was one of many facilities provided to young Papuans and the Papuan people by President Jokowi and Head of BIN Budi Gunawan.

Vitha Faidiban stated that with the kindness and love that the Head of BIN had for the Land of Papua, he was really able to give them the opportunity to occupy the PYCH building and could continue to increase their innovation and provide the best work for the Land of Papua for Indonesia.

The PYCH building was built magnificently, with traditional nuances and has complete facilities to support the interests, talents and creativity of young people in the Land of Papua. The building has facilities to support the development of young people in the Land of Papua in various fields, including culinary, hospitality, research, technology, entrepreneurship, creative industries, digital, education and literacy, health, beauty, culture to language.

This building consists of the main building, dormitory building, landscape, sports field, utility building, parking and guard post. The architectural design of the roof of the main building was inspired by the traditional houses of the people of  Jayapura  and Wamena City, namely the Honai roof and the Kariwari roof. The building was built on an area of ​​15 thousand square meters, PYCH has a main building area of ​​3,520 square meters and supporting buildings of 1,812 square meters. The building has a parking area with a capacity of 53 cars, 154 motorbikes, and landscapes.

Of course, with all the complete facilities mentioned above, it is a real form of work from the strong commitment possessed by the Head of BIN in order to be able to prosper the people in Papua, including through PMI coaching which will later manage the PYCH Building for the benefit of all young people in the Land of Papua.

The role of BIN is very large in supporting and encouraging the progress of human resources in Bumi Cendrawasih, including developing the talents and interests of young people, namely by the presence of PMI to the PYCH Building along with these extraordinary facilities.
