Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has inaugurated the Investment Management Agency (BPI) Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara), in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday (24/2/2025).
Danantara is a milestone in Indonesia’s history towards economic independence, resilience, and prosperity.
President Prabowo Subianto said that the establishment of Danantara marks a new era for BUMN.
“Not only a business entity, but as a national asset that will become an agent of development and economic growth,” said President Prabowo.
Prabowo also emphasized that BUMN must operate with high standards, the best governance and prioritize innovation, big ideas, technological progress, while maintaining discipline, prudence and a commitment to good and responsible governance.
In addition, regarding transparency, President Prabowo emphasized that BP Investasi Danantara must be auditable at any time by anyone.
“Danantara Indonesia is for our children and grandchildren. Danantara Indonesia must therefore be managed as well as possible with great care, with great transparency, with mutual supervision,” said the President.
Head of BPI Danantara Rosan Roeslani also emphasized that Danantara can be audited by the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
“The first thing I want to say is that there is no immunity from the law in this country. So the KPK can, especially if there are inappropriate or criminal actions, it is very, very possible,” said Rosan.
Rosan also said that the BPK can audit Danantara because it contains companies in the form of public service obligations (PSO).
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers Christina Aryani said that Danantara is not only an investment manager, but an important instrument for driving national development.
“It has never existed in the previous era, this is the first by President Prabowo. We pray that Danantara runs smoothly for the sake of Indonesia moving forward,” he said.
Through Danantara, the government will invest natural resources and state assets so that it is hoped that this agency can encourage various projects that have a large and sustainable impact on Indonesia.
Danantara consolidates the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) and seven state-owned enterprises (BUMN), namely Bank Mandiri, Bank BRI, PLN, Pertamina, BNI, Telkom Indonesia, and MIND ID.
With the inauguration of Danantara, Prabowo believes and trusts that Indonesia will continue to move forward stronger and more united in a firm goal in determination, and is convinced that Indonesia’s greatest achievements are still ahead. [-RWA]
