The transition of government from President Joko Widodo to President-elect Prabowo Subianto is called the best model of power transfer in the history of Indonesia. Economists assess that the smooth power transition process will have a positive impact on the investment climate.
Director of the School of Global Strategic Studies and UI Economic Observer, Athor Subroto, revealed that President Jokowi’s enthusiasm which is always shown to investors shows that Indonesia wants to develop.
“Mr. Jokowi has such a great spirit to grow the Indonesian economy that is also responded well by the market, like it or not, in fact our numbers continue to improve. Our economy continues to improve,” Athor Subroto explained to the media in Jakarta, Tuesday (24/9).
Meanwhile, Bung Karno University’s Political and Economic Observer, Faisyal Chaniago, explained that President Jokowi’s program is expected to be continued by President-elect Prabowo Subianto.
“Programs that are already running, for example toll infrastructure, must not stop, because development is not enough for just 10 years, therefore it must be continuous, so it requires a smooth transition so that there is cooperation and synergy,” explained Faisyal Chaniago in Jakarta.
