Firm Action by Regional Officials Supporting KST Papua
There is no justification for anyone, whether unscrupulous regional officials or the public, who participated in helping the Papuan Separatist Terrorist Group (KST) in carrying out their actions which caused a lot of harm and clearly violated applicable law. For this reason, it needs to be strictly enforced. High appreciation should be given to the security forces for upholding the law and justice for anyone who helps in any form Egianus Kogoya (Leader of KST Papua).
The Papuan Separatist Terrorist Group (KST) has indeed become increasingly troubling for the community, its peak since they took hostage a Susi Air pilot, Capt Philip Mark Merthens some time ago in Nduga, Papua Mountains. Due to this action, many TNI officers died in the effort to free the Susi Air pilot.
Regarding this matter, it turns out that the Papua regional government is involved in assisting the Terrorist Separatist Group (KST) led by Egianus Kogoya. The Head of the Papua Regional Police (Kapolda) Inspector General Pol Mathius D. Fahiri agreed that there were several officials related to KST. It is not justified for anyone or any party involved to support Egianus Kogoya’s actions. For this reason, his party promised to take firm and fair legal action against anyone who plays behind both the public and officials in government agencies.
It is certain that the officials who assisted Egianus could not sleep soundly because the Head of the Papua Police Inspector General of Police Mathius D. Fahiri had pocketed a number of names involved in helping the activities of a group of Papuan KST in Nduga. If indeed the names of these officials have been proven to be involved with KST, then the security forces will strictly take legal action.
The latest Cartenz Peaceful Law Enforcement Task Force arrested the Head of the Kenyam District, Nduga Regency, Highlands Papua on Thursday (4/5). The official was arrested because previously there were indications of his involvement in helping to fund the KKB for the Nduga region to purchase weapons and ammunition.
Not only unscrupulous officials in the ranks of government agencies, the Papua Police Chief is also investigating other local people who are indicated to have deliberately supported KST activities. The fate of those involved with KST is the same, they are threatened with legal action by the authorities in a fair manner. The local security forces will also crush all of KST’s accomplices and it’s only a matter of time to investigate all of them.
Previously, strong indications were even known by the public regarding the presence of unscrupulous officials involved with the Papuan Separatist Terrorist Group (KST). However, the police have not disclosed the names involved, therefore it would be better if the police actually conveyed these names together with the evidence that has been collected.
In an effort to resolve this, researchers on the issue of Papua from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) responded that the regional official should indeed play an important role in resolving this KST conflict. It would be a shame if these officials actually helped Egianus Kogoya’s activities that violated the law.
However, before the appearance of statements by officials involved with KST, at the end of last year the Papua Regional Police Chief expressed his hopes for the New Autonomous Region (DOB) policy. It can be seen that this Terrorist Separatist Group often shows its existence as a sign of rejection with a number of actions and he also said that many KST members have relatives with regional officials.
Then, about 2 years ago the Nemangkawi Task Force (currently changed to the Peace Cartenz Task Force) found a number of ASN personnel and Papuan officials who were involved with KST. The ASN person with the initials ES served in the Yahukimo Regency Government and was a supplier of firearms to KST.
The involvement of unscrupulous officials in Papuan regional agencies has led to many wild assumptions to reveal this fact. What’s more, looking at the background of the previous incident, the Police suspected that there was a supplier of firearms by ASN personnel. This involvement is of course quite dangerous, how can they not open up space for easier shootings in the land of Papua.
What’s more, the victims who fell were quite a lot, especially the TNI soldiers who were on duty in the effort to free the Susi Air pilot. Until now, the release operation is still ongoing. Even though the Regent of Nduga had previously carried out the negotiation method, in reality this has not yet produced results.
Therefore, in order not to drag on in efforts to free the Susi Air pilot and for the sake of calm and peace in the country, Inspector General of Police Mathius D. Fakhri plans to prioritize law enforcement to quell KST and resolve the issue firmly and fairly.
If the negotiations are not successful, then the next step that must be taken is to enforce the law that applies to the Papuan Separatist Terrorist Group (KST) which has caused chaos among the people, causing huge losses, even lives at stake. So that the KST conflict does not drag on, the security forces should act firmly and fairly on KST Papua and even their minions, including indications of unscrupulous regional officials who have helped them without a word of mercy.
