Government Ensures Wage Subsidy Assistance Is Targeted and Transparent

JAKARTA — The government, through the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker), continues to ensure that the disbursement of the 2025 Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) is both well-targeted and transparent.

Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, affirmed that the BSU disbursement has now entered a phased distribution stage. He emphasized that the process is being carried out with great care, given the importance of data accuracy and compliance with administrative procedures to ensure proper and transparent delivery.

“When people ask us when the funds will be disbursed, there are actually two key issues. First, we must be very careful to ensure that data from the BPJS Employment agency meets the established eligibility criteria. Second, from the financial administration side, since this budget was not initially planned,” said Minister Yassierli.

He explained that the legal framework has already been prepared, and recipient data has been thoroughly verified. The Minister assured that there will be no deductions in the distribution process, and all eligible workers will receive the full amount of assistance.

“All administrative processes must be complete because we aim for the entire process to be transparent and accountable. So there will be no deductions,” he added.

This cautious approach was also echoed by the Minister’s Expert Staff for Labor Economics, Aris Wahyudi. According to him, validating recipient data is essential to avoid mistargeting and potential overlaps.

“Our principle is to proceed carefully—identifying who qualifies and who is rightfully entitled. We are confident that all intended recipients will be accurately and completely reached,” said Aris.

To support smooth and effective BSU disbursement, the government has once again appointed PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BRI, as the official distributing bank. BRI Corporate Secretary, Agustya Hendy Bernadi, stated that BRI is committed to strengthening its role as a strategic partner of the government in advancing public welfare.

“Through this pro-people government program, BRI remains committed to strengthening its role as a development agent, consistently providing accessible, secure, and impactful financial services to the wider public,” he said.

As the bank with the most extensive service network in Indonesia, BRI ensures easy access for all BSU recipients through various channels, including digital platforms and conventional branch offices located throughout the country.

With a well-prepared system, strong coordination between the Ministry of Manpower and banking partners, and a commitment to upholding transparency and accountability, the 2025 BSU program is expected to serve as an effective social safety net to help maintain workers’ purchasing power amid ongoing economic challenges.
