Government Targets MSMEs as Pillars of National Economy in Indonesia Gold 2045

Jakarta – The government has set a target for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to become the main pillar of the national economy in the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045, one of which is through easier access to capital.
In this regard, BRI, as part of the state-owned banks, continues to strengthen its role in supporting the MSME sector through various innovations and sustainable financial services.
With its extensive network, BRI has become a strategic partner in enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy at the global level. Not only providing access to financing, BRI also offers entrepreneurship training programs and business mentoring.
“BRI continues to allocate resources to support the micro and ultra-micro segments through financial innovations, training programs, and business mentoring. This step aligns with our vision to strengthen the economy of society,” said BRI President Director, Sunarso.
Meanwhile, in the middle layer, the medium segment serves as a balance for the credit portfolio with more stable growth. At the top of the pyramid, the large corporate segment remains an important part of national development, even though its customer base is smaller.
Sunarso explained that credit demand in the MSME sector is highly influenced by people’s purchasing power. If purchasing power weakens, credit demand, especially in the micro segment, tends to decrease.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Regional Representative Council (DPRD), Wibi Andrino, appreciated the initiative of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in launching the MSME Development Program for visually impaired individuals.
“I appreciate the DKI Provincial Government’s efforts in supporting MSME empowerment for visually impaired individuals,” said Wibi.
However, he emphasized that this program must have a real impact and not just be a ceremonial event.
He stated that continuous mentoring, broader market access, and regular evaluations are necessary to ensure that the program has a tangible impact.
He also expressed his commitment to overseeing the implementation of the program so that it runs sustainably and is not merely symbolic.
