East Nusa Tenggara – West Manggarai Religious Figure, Ustadz Mukhtar Hadiyono said that his party is ready to fully support the implementation of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in 2023 which will be held in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

“Hopefully the implementation of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo can be useful and efficient, especially for the people of NTT, so that it can move the economy of the local community,” said Ustadz Mukhtar Hadiyono in West Manggarai.

The same thing was said by the Community Figure of Labuan Bajo Suwandy who also served as the Head of Warloka Village, Labuan Bajo. According to him, the Labuan Bajo region being prepared to host the 2023 ASEAN Summit is an extraordinary thing.

“This is an opportunity for us to be more famous, the community must support the success of this event,” he said.

Furthermore, Suwandy said the people of Labuan Bajo support the ASEAN Summit because it is very profitable, and the Labuan Bajo region will be increasingly recognized by residents of Southeast Asia and the rest of the world.

“The reason is because when there is the 2023 ASEAN Summit, international journalists will come to cover, then they will be amazed by the natural beauty of Labuan Bajo,” explained Suwandy.

If Labuan Bajo’s nature and tourism are highlighted by international media, he added, then the place will become more popular and it is hoped that foreign tourist visits will also increase.

“They will travel there because they watch the coverage, both on television and on the YouTube channel,” said the Village Head of Warloka.

Meanwhile, DPRD Member from the PKB Fraction of West Manggarai Regency, Sewargading S. asked for the full support of the people of West Manggarai in general and the people who are on the Golo Mori route, Labuan Bajo in particular, that the organizing committee for the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo must be successful. This is a shared responsibility between the government and society.

“It is not only the people who support the ASEAN Summit but also the people’s representatives. All support is needed to make this event run smoothly. There are no individuals who dare to invite the people to demonstrate against the Summit, because everyone believes that this event is beneficial for Indonesia,” said Sewargading.
