West Manggarai — Preparations for the ASEAN Summit continue to be carried out carefully, especially by raising and highlighting local nuances in order to welcome all delegation guests to this international event in Labuan Bajo.
Main Director of the Labuan Bajo Flores Tourism Authority Executing Agency (BPOLBF), Shana Fatina recommends the nuances of local wisdom in the form of the ‘Tari Arrive Meka’ and also regional culinary treats.
According to him, by presenting the dance, it shows how friendly the host is in welcoming important guests.
For information, in previous international conferences, Indonesia also used local wisdom to welcome the guest delegates.
“The Arrive Meka dance is one of the dances that will be recommended when welcoming guests and when holding several gala dinners, such as the one held at the G-20 celebration in Bali some time ago,” he said.
Shana added that it would not only be dancing that would be presented, but also nuances of local wisdom being encouraged in the form of culinary services.
His party continues to strive so that the delegates at the 2023 ASEAN Summit can be served with special dishes from NTT.
Furthermore, he also admitted that indeed a lot of preparations had been made ahead of the world-level forum event.
Cultural elements with local wisdom continue to be encouraged by RI as the Chair at the 2023 ASEAN Summit.
This includes the meeting of Ministers of Finance and Governors of Central Banks throughout ASEAN (AFMGM), which at that time used Toraja nuances as the main theme of the building.
The activity which was held since March 28 and closed on March 31 2023 is also one of the series of the 2023 ASEAN Summit.
The Head of Representative of Bank Indonesia for South Sulawesi Province, Causa Imam Karana admitted that choosing the theme of Toraja at the world level meeting was an honor and pride in itself.
“This is an honor and pride for the people of South Sulawesi,” he said.
Not only that, with the nuances of local wisdom and Indonesian culture at the ASEAN level meeting, it has also become one of the tourism promotion events in the country, especially for South Sulawesi.
