Jakarta – The government has launched the Free Health Checkup Program (PKG), which began on February 10, 2025, as a tangible demonstration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s commitment to public health. This program aims to improve the national health quality through early detection of various diseases.

Indonesia’s Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, urged the public to take full advantage of this program. He emphasized that PKG is the largest health initiative in Indonesia’s history, with the target of reaching the entire population.

“This is the largest program in history, targeting 280 million people to benefit from it. This program reaches the largest number of people in the history of this republic,” said Budi Gunadi Sadikin.

The program is designed to detect various diseases early, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. With earlier detection, the public can receive quicker treatment and prevent serious complications that could threaten lives.

Support for PKG also comes from various organizations, including the Indonesian Public Health Experts Association (IAKMI). The Chairman of IAKMI, Dedi Supratman, expressed his appreciation for this program as it can enhance national healthcare services.

“President Prabowo has a very good vision for health, one of which is the free health checkup program. This is important to ensure that the public remains healthy and can detect disease symptoms early before they become more severe,” he said.

Dedi also highlighted the importance of health promotion so that the public understands preventive measures. He cited how routine health checkups can help detect high blood pressure earlier, which can be prevented before it develops into a stroke or heart disease.

Furthermore, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) also supports the implementation of PKG. Kadin’s Chairman, Anindya Bakrie, expressed readiness to help make the program successful. He believes this program will inspire the public to maintain their health.

“Who doesn’t want to live longer? But it’s not just about living longer, it’s about living healthier and being productive,” said Anindya.

The PKG program marks the beginning of national health reforms under the Prabowo-Gibran administration. By involving various stakeholders, including the health sector and the business community, it is hoped that this program will be effective and reach all people across Indonesia.

The public is urged to take part in the free health checkups at the designated health facilities provided by the government. The government also ensures that this service will be evenly distributed across Indonesia, including remote areas, so that no citizen is left out from the benefits of this program.

With PKG in place, it is hoped that public awareness of the importance of health checkups will increase, thereby reducing the prevalence of chronic diseases and improving the overall quality of life. This program is a concrete proof that the health of the people is a top priority for the Prabowo-Gibran administration in building a healthier and more prosperous Indonesia.
