Residents Welcome the Launch of the Free Health Checkup Program

Jakarta – The public has warmly welcomed the Free Health Checkup Program (PKG). The Jakarta Provincial Government has confirmed the readiness of its health centers to implement the free health checkup program, which officially began on February 10, 2025.
Head of the Jakarta Health Office, Ani Ruspitawati, stated that each health center will serve a maximum of 30 people per day for health checkups.
“At the initial stage, the Ministry of Health has set a quota of 30 people per day. However, if we are able to accommodate more in the future, the quota will be increased,” said Ani.
The health centers in Jakarta have prepared various facilities to anticipate a surge in patients, including providing special rooms for those participating in the free health checkup program.
“Some health centers are even offering additional services. Security personnel are also ready to assist residents who are having difficulty or have not downloaded the Satu Sehat Mobile app,” she explained.
Ani also encouraged the public to download the Satu Sehat Mobile app and fill out their health history before visiting the health centers.
“We hope that people will register online first so the checkup process at the health centers can go more smoothly and quickly,” she said.
This program focuses on health checks or screenings without direct medical treatments.
Ani clarified that the checkups only include general health screenings, such as dental checkups.
“For example, if someone has a small cavity, even though it doesn’t hurt yet, they will be given education and can register for follow-up therapy in the future,” she explained.
Vice Chairman of Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Charles Honoris, has also shown concern for this program.
He urged the government to anticipate the surge in demand for further treatments after the free health checkup program begins.
“The government must be ready to provide increased curative healthcare services post-PKG, especially in light of reduced healthcare sector budgets,” he stated.
Presidential Spokesperson Adita Irawati emphasized that the free health checkup program is a realization of President Prabowo Subianto’s campaign promise.
“This free healthcare service is a key part of realizing the ‘Golden Generation 2045’ and aligns with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution,” Adita explained.
She added that this initiative shows the Indonesian government’s courage in implementing healthcare services on par with those of advanced countries.
“The President also stated that we must be brave enough to follow in the footsteps of countries that have already implemented similar programs,” she added.
The Ministry of Health is monitoring the implementation of this program in various regions, including Jakarta, Central Java, North Maluku, and East Kalimantan.
The government hopes that this initiative will bring tangible benefits to the public and support the improvement of national healthcare quality.
