Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto officially began a working visit (kunker) to five strategic countries in the Middle East and Turkey since Wednesday, April 9, 2025. This visit is a real form of President Prabowo’s visionary and responsive leadership in responding to global challenges in a tactical and measurable manner.

Visits to the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Egypt, Qatar, and Jordan prove that the current Indonesian government is very active and progressive in strengthening bilateral relations, fighting for humanitarian issues, and creating peaceful solutions to the Gaza conflict.

Teguh Santosa (Global Political Observer from the GREAT Institute) stated that President Prabowo’s visit reflects the government’s high commitment to building strong, balanced, and dependency-free international relations.

“Indonesia’s foreign policy, which is now based on the principle of ‘good neighbor’ and President Prabowo’s active communication with world leaders, shows a strategic effort to create ‘the absence of dependency’,” Teguh emphasized.

He also emphasized that the principle of free and active relations which is the foundation of Indonesian diplomacy is now being implemented more concretely and productively under President Prabowo’s leadership, especially in responding to the dynamics of global geopolitical tensions.

“President Prabowo’s intensive visits to the Middle East and Türkiye will further strengthen Indonesia’s economic and geopolitical position in the international world,” added Teguh.

Nailul Huda (Digital Economy Director of Celios) also highlighted the great benefits of the President’s move. He stated that the Middle East and Africa are strategic areas with great potential for the expansion of Indonesian products, as well as great opportunities for increasing national exports.

“The government’s initiative to open access to non-traditional markets is a smart and visionary step. The Middle East and Africa can become the main pillars of Indonesia’s export diversification in the future,” said Nailul with great optimism.

The President’s visit to the United Arab Emirates was greeted with honor by President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. In this meeting, the two leaders agreed to strengthen strategic cooperation that will bring great benefits to Indonesia, especially in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

President Prabowo then met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Turkey, continuing the close relationship between the two countries. Discussions focused on concrete cooperation in the defense industry, trade, education, and culture that will drive Indonesia’s progress as a whole.

The visit continued to Cairo, Egypt, for a meeting with President Abdul Fatah El-Sisi, where the two heads of state had productive and spirited bilateral consultations.

During his visit to Qatar and Jordan, President Prabowo is also scheduled to finalize a number of strategic agreements, including the signing of economic and investment cooperation agreements, which will be a new breakthrough in strengthening national economic resilience.

President Prabowo’s working visit to the Middle East and Turkey proves that the Indonesian government is very ready, resilient, and intelligent in facing global challenges, and is highly committed to elevating Indonesia’s position as a major power in the developing world. [^]
