PSSI Technical Director: General Chair of PSSI Key to the Advancement of Indonesian Football
Jakarta – The figure of the right chairman for the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) is an important key to be able to advance the world of Indonesian football.
PSSI Technical Director, Indra Sjafri explained that there are at least five pillars that can continue to be improved for the development of football in the country.
“There are at least 5 things that must be improved, namely infrastructure, curriculum, coach development (HR), player development, and competition,” he explained, on Wednesday (15/2).
In a discussion program on one of the television stations, Indra Sjafri also revealed that the supporters and several other parties, including the chairman, have so far seemed to only focus on competition and achievement.
According to him, of course competition will not be able to develop properly if it is not supported by several other important things, such as good infrastructure.
“Infrastructure is very important including the curriculum, then the availability of trainers must also be a lot,” he added.
Therefore, he advised whoever the PSSI Chairperson would be elected at the next Extraordinary Congress (KLB) to be able to improve technically as well as upstream.
“Technically, it must be improved first, because all this time the chairman has only thought about achievement. I ask the general chairman who will come, the upstream can be repaired, “said the Technical Director of PSSI.
For your information, the PSSI KLB will be held on 16 February 2023. The congress aims to be a venue for selecting the General Chairperson, Deputy General Chairperson, and members of the Executive Committee.
There are five names that have been officially declared as candidates for the General Chair of PSSI for the 2023-2027 period. Erick Thohir is one of the candidates who has officially become a candidate for the General Chair of PSSI in the upcoming PSSI KLB.
Secretary General (Secretary General) of PSSI Yunus Nusi assessed that the Minister of BUMN of the Republic of Indonesia had the qualities to become the General Chair of PSSI for the 2023-2027 period. According to him, Erick Thohir has a lot of experience in the green field world and has the support of most voters.
“What I see from Pak Erick is that he will be able to provide the best for Indonesian football, besides that he is also supported by most of the voters,” said Yunus in Jakarta, some time ago.
Based on his track record, Erick Thorir has received support from various parties related to him as a candidate for the general chairmanship of PSSI.
Similarly, former Indonesian football player Peri Sandria also expressed support for SOE Minister Erick Thohir to become the General Chair of PSSI for the 2023-2027 period.
“He has been tested while still holding the Inter Milan club. Erick is very professional and includes success there, “said Peri.
The man who was once the all-time Indonesian League top scorer in one season with 34 goals hopes that Erick Thohir will no longer involve old faces if he is elected as General Chair of PSSI 2023-2027.
