Solid Interfaith Figures Pray for the Success of the 2023 ASEAN Summit

Labuan Bajo – Charismatic religious figure Rev. Mercury D. Sine emphasized his support for the implementation of the ASEAN Summit (Summit) in Labuan Bajo on 9-11 May 2023.

“Supporting the implementation of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo West Manggarai,” said the man who also serves as Chair of the West Flores Class Assembly.

According to Reverend Mercury, the implementation of the ASEAN Summit will have many positive impacts on the surrounding community. He also prayed that the 42nd ASEAN Summit would run smoothly.

“Our prayers are that the ASEAN Summit which will take place later can run smoothly and have a positive impact and encourage the progress of ASEAN countries, including Indonesia,” he said.

The chairman of the West Flores Class Assembly also hopes that the arrival of leaders from ASEAN countries to Labuan Bajo can encourage super premium tourism in the future.

“Hopefully it will also benefit the people of the NTT region, as well as the Indonesian people in general,” concluded Pastor Mercury.

In a separate place, the Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council or MUI of West Manggarai Regency, NTT, Ustadz Zakaria Abdul Jangkung expressed his support for the ASEAN Summit. According to him, the ASEAN Summit will provide various benefits for the community.

“Hopefully the ASEAN Summit will have a positive impact on development in Labuan Bajo and in Indonesia in general,” said Ustadz Zakaria.

The presence of ASEAN heads of state in Labuan Bajo, added Ustadz Zakaria, could kick off the splendor of tourism, especially Labuan Bajo Super Premium tourism in the future.

“And hopefully it will also bring benefits to the people of Labuan Bajo, the people of NTT, and the people of Indonesia,” added the Chairman of the West Manggarai MUI.

Not forgetting, he thanked all parties who contributed to the success of the event and prayed that the implementation of the ASEAN Summit would run smoothly.

“Hopefully the ASEAN Summit can run successfully” concluded Ustadz Zakaria.

For your information, Indonesia will hold the chairmanship of ASEAN 2023 from 1 January 2023 – 31 December 2023.

The theme for this year is “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth” which means that Indonesia wants to make ASEAN remain important and relevant to the ASEAN community and the world.
