Support the ASEAN Summit, West Manggarai Religious Leaders: Bring Benefits to the Labuan Bajo Community
West Manggarai- Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council or MUI of West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, Ustadz Zakaria Abdul Jangkung emphasized his support for the holding of the 42nd ASEAN Summit. He hopes that this event will provide various benefits for the community.
“Hopefully the ASEAN Summit will have a positive impact on development in Labuan Bajo and in Indonesia in general,” said Ustadz Zakaria
Furthermore, the Chairperson of the West Manggarai MUI believes the presence of ASEAN heads of state to Labuan Bajo can initiate a splendor of tourism, especially Labuan Bajo Super Premium tourism in the future.
“And hopefully it will also bring benefits to the people of Labuan Bajo, the people of NTT, and the people of Indonesia,” added Ustadz Zakaria.
On the same occasion, he thanked all parties who contributed to the success of the event and prayed that the implementation of the ASEAN Summit would run smoothly.
“Hopefully the ASEAN Summit can run successfully,” he concluded
The ASEAN Summit or ASEAN Summit itself will be held on 9-11 May 2023 in Labuan Bajo. A number of countries and heads of government will attend the event. The government continues to maximize various preparations, including the tourism sector in Labuan Bajo.
In a separate place, Chairman of the West Manggarai Regency Religious Communication Forum (FKUB), Romo Richardus Manggu, appealed to all West Manggarai people to continue to maintain a conducive situation during the implementation of the ASEAN Summit.
“For this reason, we invite religious leaders and all religious people to participate and support various steps to prepare for and carry out the summit later,” he said.
Romo Richardus added that the determination of Labuan Bajo as the location for the ASEAN Summit was a blessing for the people of West Manggarai.
This is because the government is making various preparations which have an impact on the progress of West Manggarai as a tourism area.
He also believes that the people of West Manggarai have customs, harmony, and social life that are used to receiving guests who visit the West Manggarai region.
Therefore, the culture of the people should be maintained for the success of various activities, including the 2023 ASEAN Summit.
Not to forget, the Chairperson of the West Manggarai FKUB advised residents to work together with the security forces, especially the NTT Regional Police, to maintain the security situation and public order.
This is necessary so that the activities of the ASEAN Summit Summit can run safely and smoothly.
