The 10th WWF is believed to be able to improve Bali’s local economy

Bali – Special Staff of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Firdaus Ali stated that Indonesia’s participation in the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) in Bali had a positive impact on the economy.

He believes that this forum will attract participants from various countries, which has the potential to make a significant economic contribution, especially for Bali through increasing tourist visits.

“Then for Indonesia, especially Bali, every tourist who comes provides an opportunity. “They spend and so on,” said Firdaus Ali when met in Nusa Dua, Bali.

In addition, around 17 thousand people are projected to look for accommodation, shop and do other activities during the event. Moreover, considering that WWF will be held close to the holidays, integrated communication between all parties is important to ensure the smooth running of the event.

“They go to Indonesia to stay and they spend. “They don’t just stay, they will extend because it happens to be approaching the holidays and of course we communicate this with the local government, with airlines, with property, hotels, and so on,” added Firdaus.

Firdaus also emphasized that WWF will have an impact on other economic sectors, including increasing demand for various shopping goods such as clothing and souvenirs. Thus, this event will provide a significant economic boost for local MSMEs in Bali during the event.

“We prepare clothes, gifts, and we encourage MSMEs by opening a stand there, to introduce our local products,” he explained.

In line with the Special Staff of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Firdaus Ali, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno, assessed that WWF 2024 will make a significant contribution to the economy.

Sandiaga estimates that this event can contribute between 30 and 50 million US dollars, equivalent to around IDR 561 billion to IDR 800 billion.

Sandiaga Uno also said that the event is expected to attract between 35 thousand and 50 thousand participants, both from within and outside the country.

Therefore, the 10th WWF is expected to increase substantial revenues for local businesses and promote economic growth in the area.

“We believe the World Water Forum in Bali can be a historical milestone for Indonesia and Bali to place a strategic role in water management and local wisdom,” said the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy.
