The 2023 ASEAN Summit Successfully Drives Digital Transformation and Creates Economic Development
West Manggarai — Minister of Communication and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia, Johnny G. Plate stated that the 2023 ASEAN Summit has succeeded in continuing to encourage digital transformation while creating economic development.
The reason is, with the success of the international event held in Indonesia, it was able to provide direct experience related to national digital transformation to all regional country leaders who attended.
In fact, Indonesia’s success is indeed extraordinary, because even though Labuan Bajo has just been developed, it has proven to be immediately successful in holding world-class events.
“Even though Labuan Bajo has just been developed by President Joko Widodo, this area was chosen to enter the international window. This indicates that Indonesia can do it,” said Johnny.
Indonesia is also able to show off in showing in the eyes of the world how national digital performance is, starting from the construction of fiber-optic cable networks, backbones, to Base Transceiver Stations.
“Both for internet access and for backups. This is a showcase of the successful development we have carried out in the telecommunication and digital sector,” he said.
Of course, with the existence of all adequate digital infrastructure, it can serve as an example of Indonesia’s readiness to continue to encourage the migration of people’s activities to the digital space.
Also included, this country will continue to strive for the use of digital space for the benefit of society in general.
One of them is for economic interests which are very capable of helping to increase the welfare of society.
“In particular, Indonesia’s economic interests or infrastructure preparation in support of the 42nd ASEAN Summit,” said the Indonesian Minister of Communication and Information.
Furthermore, Johnny also emphasized, the existence of digital infrastructure will be able to support the dissemination of information regarding the 42nd ASEAN Summit.
All information about the results of the 2023 ASEAN Summit will also reach the public very quickly with adequate digital infrastructure.
“We don’t just build on digital downstream, applications, or platforms. But entirely, from the upstream infrastructure. Transmission of the results of the trials can quickly reach the community if the digital infrastructure is ready,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the DPR RI considers that the 42nd ASEAN Summit 2023 in Labuan Bajo has been very successful.
This is because Indonesia, as chairman and host, has been able to continue to present a positive image, including on the infrastructure side.
The existence of an international event in Labuan Bajo has succeeded in showing how the Government is optimal in exposing the charms of tourism in the country.
Of course this is also a good momentum for tourism promotion in Indonesia.
“By holding an international event in Labuan Bajo, the government is exposing the charm of Indonesian tourism. This is a good promotional step, moreover all the infrastructure is presented nicely,” said Deputy Chairman of Commission V DPR RI Andi Iwan Darmawan Aras.
