Labuan Bajo – Indonesia’s chairmanship at the 2023 ASEAN Summit which was held in Labuan Bajo had an extraordinary impact on the people of East Nusa Tenggara.
According to the Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Usman Kansong, the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo was an expensive moment. Therefore the people of NTT and also the people of Indonesia must support this international event.
“Indeed this is a momentum, now or never, so let us support the holding of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo. I hope that the people of NTT and also the people of Indonesia will support the ASEAN Summit,” said Usman.
Usman also appealed to the people of NTT to be good hosts because the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo had a huge impact on the economy in NTT.
“Let us be good hosts because the benefits of holding the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo will also have an impact on the economy and infrastructure that will benefit the community,” he said.
The General Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (KADIN) NTT, Bobby Lianto, said the same thing, that holding the ASEAN Summit in NTT is a very rare opportunity, because this is the first time the Summit will be held outside Jakarta and Bali. And this is the momentum to prove that NTT is worthy of holding an international event.
”This is not a golden opportunity, but this is a diamond opportunity and this cannot happen anywhere else, where for the first time the Summit is being held outside Jakarta and Bali, so we have to take advantage of the current expensive momentum, we give it that it is indeed feasible in Labuan Bajo,” ‘ said Bobby.
Bobby expressed his appreciation and gratitude to President Joko Widodo for building infrastructure in NTT in addition to supporting the holding of the ASEAN Summit as well as a means to support the acceleration of economic growth in NTT.
“I see that President Jokowi is so enthusiastic that he has been juggling Labuan Bajo for some time now. And we, the people of NTT, thank the President for giving us this extraordinary opportunity,” said Bobby.
East Nusa Tenggara Province is hosting the 2023 ASEAN Summit, which on this occasion will have an impact on improving the economy and welfare of the people of East Nusa Tenggara. In this event, of course, many tourists will come to Indonesia, especially East Nusa Tenggara.
