The People’s School Program: A Government Step to Improve the Quality of Life of the Community Through Education

Jakarta – The Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) has affirmed its commitment to supporting the improvement of human resource quality through the People’s School Program. This program is considered the heart of Indonesia’s human resource development because it not only provides academic education but also instills the values of discipline, responsibility, and strong character in children from underprivileged families.

The Minister of PANRB, Rini Widyantini, stated that the People’s School is a concrete manifestation of President Prabowo Subianto’s vision of strengthening the quality of life of the community through education.

“The People’s School is the heart of the President’s program to improve the quality of Indonesian human resources. This is where the foundation of human development is built, and this is where the next generation learns the meaning of hard work, responsibility, and love for the country,” said Rini.

Rini explained that the existence of People’s Schools in various regions is the result of collaboration between the central government, regional governments, and the private sector. The Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) is committed to maintaining the governance and sustainability of the program so that it is not merely a temporary project, but rather a tangible legacy for future generations.

“The sustainability of the People’s Schools proves that government programs don’t stop at the meeting table. They truly provide direct benefits to the community,” he added.

Meanwhile, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) viewed the people’s school program as a concrete manifestation of the President’s vision of building the welfare and independence of underprivileged families.

“When a child graduates from school, the family also moves up a class. This means that if a child has completed their education at the People’s School, their parents no longer receive social assistance because they are now independent,” said Gus Ipul.

He explained that the People’s Schools not only focus on children’s education but also on empowering parents through the Ministry of Social Affairs’ programs. Beneficiary families are guided to become economically independent after the social assistance period ends.

“Parents must fully support their children’s education, because their success means improved family welfare,” he said.

Gus Ipul also appreciated the cross-ministerial collaboration in making this program a success. He said the support of the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) was crucial, especially in the development of regulations, institutional structures, and the preparation of educators and school principals.

“I thank the Minister of PANRB for her earnest support for the implementation of the People’s Schools in 166 locations this year. This is an extraordinary achievement,” he said.

The People’s Schools themselves have highly competent and organized levels of education. These People’s Schools are expected to become a model for improving the quality of education and community welfare through synergy between government agencies.

With a spirit of collaboration and sustainability, the People’s School Program is expected to become a strong foundation for building a future generation that is intelligent, character-based, and independent, while also elevating the status of underprivileged families towards a better life.
