West Manggarai – Indonesia will hold the 42nd ASEAN Summit on 9-11 May 2023 in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The ASEAN Summit which was held in Labuan Bajo received a lot of appreciation and support.

“Thank you to President Joko Widodo for trusting or choosing Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency as the location for holding the 42nd ASEAN Summit,” he said.
As is known, holding the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo will have a positive impact on the region. The reason is, by holding the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo it will popularize the region in the eyes of the international community.
For this reason, Alexander hopes that the ASEAN Summit activities in Labuan Bajo can be held successfully. The success of holding the ASEAN Summit will also have an impact on improving the economy of the people of Kab. West Manggarai especially MSMEs.
He also hopes that the success of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo can be a start for holding other international events in Labuan Bajo.
“It is hoped that international activities or events can continue to be held in Labuan Bajo to improve the community’s economy, especially for MSMEs and communities who will be involved in international and national activities,” he said.
In addition, for the success of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regent Edistasius Endi invited the public to support preparations for the ASEAN Summit.
“For West Manggarai residents, let’s take our respective roles and really feel the impact of holding the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo,” said Regent Edistasius Endi.
Regent Edi also invited the community, especially farmers and MSMEs to take advantage of this moment. He asked them to show quality products to be showcased during the international event.
On the other hand, the Regional Leadership Council of the Indonesian Christian Youth Movement (DPD GAMKI) Gadi Buli invited all residents of the NTT Province to fully support the implementation of the ASEAN Summit.
GAMKI also hopes that all the people of NTT pray for and support the successful implementation of the 2023 ASEAN Summit which will be attended by thousands of participants from various countries.
“We pray and hope that the implementation of the ASEAN Summit will go well and also have a positive impact on the people of NTT,” said Gadi.
