West Manggarai – West Manggarai Regent Edistasius Endi stated that his party is ready to support and succeed the ASEAN Summit (Summit) in Labuan Bajo 9-11 May 2023.
“We are ready to support and succeed in holding the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo on 9-11 May 2023,” said Regent Edistasius.
He also invited the public to support preparations for the ASEAN Summit.
“Let’s succeed in holding the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo. For West Manggarai residents, let’s take our respective roles and really feel the impact of holding the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo,” he said.
In addition, the Regent Edistasius also invited farmers and MSMEs to take advantage of this moment.
He also asked them to show quality products to be exhibited during the international event.
“In addition to showing quality goods, let’s maintain cleanliness, security and order, and be friendly to anyone who comes, both guests who come for tours and those who come to take part in the ASEAN Summit,” said Editasius.
Likewise, West Manggarai Deputy Regent (Wabup) Yulianus Weng also acknowledged that his party was ready to support the implementation of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo.
“Ready to support the implementation of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo,” said Vice Regent Yulianus.
Previously, Deputy Regent Yulianus also invited West Manggarai Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) residents to join together in supporting and succeeding the agenda of the 42nd ASEAN Summit.
The Vice Regent conveyed this invitation while attending the first century or 100 year anniversary of Harlah NU at the West Manggarai Regency level on February 7, 2023.
On a different occasion, the Governor of NTT Province, Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat, stated that the people of NTT were very proud of the appointment of Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency as the host for the 2023 ASEAN Summit.
“We are grateful that NTT Province has been entrusted with being the venue for the 2023 ASEAN Summit which will be held in Labuan Bajo. This activity has a big impact on the economic development of the people of NTT,” said Governor Viktor.
He said the holding of the 2023 ASEAN Summit which took place in Labuan Bajo was a matter of pride for the residents because it was the first time that NTT had become the venue for an international meeting so that this area would become increasingly famous throughout the world.
