Young Papuan Figures Appreciate BIN Oversight of PYCH Development
Jayapura – The Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building has been completed and received a positive response from the young generation of Papua. The facility, which was initiated by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) and inaugurated by President Jokowi, is expected to be a means of developing the creativity of young Papuans.
In this regard, West Papua Provincial Youth Leader Simon Tabuni expressed his gratitude to President Joko Widodo and Head of BIN General Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan for the construction of the PYCH building.
“On behalf of the youth in Manokwari, West Papua, we are very grateful to President Joko Widodo and to the Head of BIN, Pak Budi Gunawan, for this extraordinary support,” he said.
The PYCH building, added Simon, will later be used and utilized by Papuan youths, in carrying out work programs to support people’s welfare in the Land of Papua.
He added that PYCH would also collaborate, develop itself and continue to be the motor for the development of young human resources in Cendrawasih Earth. The empowerment of Papuan youth includes animal husbandry, fisheries, technological innovation, and various other positive programs.

Not only the construction of the PYCH building, a number of farmer groups have been successfully fostered in planting corn in the Kwadeware Village and Doyo Lama Village areas, Waibu District, Jayapura Regency, Papua. At this location, 20.3 hectares of corn have been planted and other land is in the processing process for planting.
A youth leader who is a member of PYCH Jayapura, Daud Edison Yarisetouw, explained that the crops would be purchased by CV Tripilar Perkasa to be used as chicken feed. Chicken feed products will be packaged with the PYCH label.
“The results of this mutually beneficial collaboration are expected to be able to trigger economic growth among youth, as well as improve their welfare. Besides that, planting corn is also one of the efforts to achieve food security,” said Daud.
For information, there are hundreds of hectares of corn fields spread throughout Papua that have been and will be developed, including in the Manokwari area with an area of 26 Ha, Sorong 10 Ha, Tambrauw 200 Ha, Fakfak 300 Ha, Jayapura 105.6 Ha, Keerom 2 Ha, Merauke 25 Ha.
