Security and public order are the fundamental pillars that determine the direction of national development. In this context, the presence of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) becomes a key factor. Each has different roles: TNI focuses on defending the country from external threats, while Polri is tasked with maintaining security and order within the country. Collaboration between TNI and Polri is an absolute necessity, especially when provocations arise that could lead to anarchic actions.
The Commander of the TNI, General Agus Subiyanto, stated that the public should not fall into provocations deliberately instigated by certain groups. According to him, there are groups that intentionally push crowds towards anarchic behavior with the aim of creating chaos. The public must not be pitted against each other or follow calls that only lead to riots. If there are problems, they should be resolved through legal channels, deliberations, and applicable regulations, as these are the right paths in accordance with the principles of a state based on law.
Furthermore, the TNI is fully committed to synergizing with the Polri in maintaining national security. For him, this cooperation is not merely a technical security matter but also concerns the dignity of the nation. He emphasized that no group should be allowed to disrupt the peace of Indonesian society, because stability is the main requirement for the continuity of national development.
In recent years, the cooperation between TNI and Polri has shown increasingly solid synergy. This is reflected in several joint operations conducted both at central and regional levels. These operations are not only about troop deployments but also include public communication strategies, joint patrols, and dialogical approaches with the community. Such synergy gives the public a sense of security and also demonstrates that the state is present in maintaining stability.
The solidarity of the apparatus also sends a strong message to the public not to be easily influenced by unverified rumors, especially those circulating on social media. The spread of hoaxes and digital provocations has been proven to frequently trigger public unrest. With joint patrols, cyber monitoring, and other preventive measures, the potential for riots can be suppressed early on.
The presence of security forces in the field is further emphasized through real activities. To maintain conduciveness amid increasing potential provocations during demonstrations, TNI and Polri, together with the Bogor Regency Government, held a joint roll call and large-scale patrols. This activity is a form of preparedness in facing various threats, including the spread of false information that can cause public anxiety.
Bogor Police Chief, AKBP Rio Wahyu Anggoro, said that the large-scale patrols are a form of protection and a guarantee of safety for the people of Bogor. He stressed that cross-agency collaboration is the key to maintaining regional stability and preventing potential anarchic actions. He explained that these activities are not only physical patrols but are also aimed at preventing the spread of hoaxes, which often cause public unrest.
Moreover, TNI and Polri will take firm action against anyone attempting to disturb public order. He added that his personnel are ready to carry out the President’s orders to take measured steps against lawbreakers. The public is also urged to remain calm, not to be easily provoked, and to immediately report any potential security disturbances in their neighborhoods.
Security efforts are also reinforced through cyber patrols. The Director of Cyber Crime at the Polri Criminal Investigation Agency, Brigadier General Himawan Bayu Aji, said that they have named a suspect who owns a social media account actively spreading provocative content related to demonstrations. He explained that so far, 592 provocative accounts and content have been blocked for spreading incitement via social media. The Polri cyber team cooperates with the Ministry of Communication and Informatics to continuously analyze and detect links between these accounts and certain networks. Cyber patrols will continue to be intensified to detect new accounts attempting to spread provocations.
Nevertheless, the success of security forces will not be optimal without community support. Public participation is a crucial element to avoid being easily provoked by provocative issues. The community is also expected to safeguard their environment from potential unrest. The values of mutual cooperation and togetherness, which are characteristics of the Indonesian nation, must be preserved so that the community is not fragmented by narrow interests pushed by certain parties.
In this regard, the roles of religious leaders, customary leaders, and local leaders are very strategic. They can act as mediators who soothe the atmosphere when turmoil occurs among the community. Through good communication between the apparatus, community leaders, and residents, the potential for anarchic actions can be minimized early.
The synergy between TNI and Polri is not merely an instrument of security control but also a symbol of the nation’s strength in maintaining sovereignty. Their collaboration proves that Indonesia has a resilient mechanism in dealing with provocations and threats of anarchic actions. A safe situation will make the public look to the future with optimism, because they realize that the state is present through a solid apparatus to maintain public order.
