CIDISS. Radicalism is still shadowing the life of society in Indonesia. It gives a negative influence on society about the meaning of harmony, tolerance, and togetherness. Therefore, the ultimate thing to counteract the influence of radicalism is by strengthening the spirit of nationalism and love of the homeland.
In his oration, Menpora reminded the importance of counteracting radicalism in the life of society. Menpora believes in nationalism, we can counter radicalism.
Menpora says if we do not channel the positive virus to others, it could be because of the rapidly expanding flow of information and technology that will affect and fade our nationalism and patriotism towards the nation. But, Menpora sure student is Candradimuka. In your hands this change will be better, and your hand is also the future of Indonesia is at stake.
Menpora further said, the sense of nationalism is a sense of love and a sense of owning the nation. The feeling arises when we truly appreciate the importance of the role as the foundation of the nation. A strong foundation supports the shocks that occur due to the bad influences caused by irresponsible people. Those who want to undermine the unity and harmony of the Indonesian nation.
Menpora invites, let us cultivate a sense of nationalism nationalism, namely the sense of belonging to this nation so that together can achieve the life of a whole and prosperous nation with the spirit of Unity and mutual cooperation. Fight all the ruprongan to the nation and people of Indonesia.
To end his oration, Menpora asked the students of STIE of West Sumatera, Pariaman, to always be optimistic. We should not be pessimistic, but we must be optimistic. That there are negative behaviors that our young people show, that is what we must be aware of. In essence, starting something must start from ourselves. We want to change things then change ourselves, both our way of thinking and behavior.
Let us all as citizens of Indonesia must jointly war to radicalism by strengthening nationalism as a bastion of the Republic of Indonesia, avoiding the Unitary Republic of the threat of radicalism and terrorism can strengthen the jargon or proverb “hubbul wathan minal iman” which means the love of the homeland part of faith.
