President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo on Thursday, September 24, is slated to visit haze-hit Riau province.
The president will be accompanied by First Lady Iriana Widodo and a number of ministers.
The president and his entourage will be in Riau for two days, from Thursday (24/9) until Friday (25/9).
Head of Government Public Affairs of Riau Province Darusman said that President Jokowi was also scheduled to monitor measures to contain forest and peat land fires.
Darusman also said that the presidential entourage would include 54 people, including Chief of the Indonesian National Police General Badrodin Haiti, Chie of the Indonesian Military (TNI) General Gatot Nurmantyo, Head of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) Willem Rampangilei, Health Minister Nila Moloek, Forestry and Environment Siti Nurbaya, as well as national and international journalists.
“President Jokowi is also scheduled to distribute the Indonesian Health Card in Kampar,” Darusman added.
