CIDISS. DPP Democratic Party (PD) sacked the Chairman of DPD PD North Sumatra, JR Saragih. This dismissal is the result of the appointment of JR Saragih as a suspect in the case of alleged use of false documents in the nomination file at the Governor and Vice Governor of North Sumatra in 2018. The false document allegedly used is a copy of JR Saragih’s certified high school diploma. As a result, JR Saragih’s candidacy as a candidate for governor of North Sumatra became obstructed.

It is known that the alleged action to JR Saragih violates the provisions of Article 184 of Law Number 10 Year 2016 concerning the use of false documents on the election of Regional Head Election. On the allegation, JR threatened jail 6 years and a fine of Rp72 million. The case is now being investigated by the Integrated Law Enforcement Sentral Investigator (Gakumdu) of North Sumatra Police. Previously, the couple JR Saragih-Ance Selian aborted North Sumatera KPU as a candidate pair because the legalized copy of high school diploma JR Saragih from Iklas Prasetia High School, Jakarta, considered not qualified. The decision was then sued to Bawaslu until finally Bawaslu recommended to give JR a chance to legalize the diploma.

But in the journey, the high school diploma that JR had exhibited to the media crew was gone. Thus, he used the Certificate of Substitution Certificate (SKPI) to meet the recommendations of the Bawaslu.

In its journey, the North Sumatera Election Commission (KPU) re-aborted Jopinus Ramli (JR) Saragih-Ance Selian from the nomination of governor and deputy governor of North Sumatera in 2018 simultaneous elections. The couple supported by the Democrat Party, PKB and PKPI returned after the subsequent registration file that they submit in accordance with the Decision of Bawaslu Sumut No 01 / PS / BWSL.SUMUT.02.00 / II / 2018, is still declared not qualified (TMS) by the North Sumatra KPU.

If the case of fake diploma JR Saragih this proved true, then of course this will also spread to other problems it seems the possibility of a diploma mafia like buying and selling fake diplomas. Of course this in addition to a blurry portrait of our politicians will also be a bad image of education in this country.

But the best thing before we conclude all sorts is that we wait for the legal steps taken by JR Saragih and how the end of this case story. The legal process prevailing in Indonesia is a good law and capable in determining the right and wrong parties. Therefore, let us entrust this issue to applicable legal procedures.
