Vice Chairman House of Representatives: Substitution Setya Novanto Golkar Party Authority

CIDISS – Jakarta. After the appointment of the Speaker of the House, Setya Novanto as a suspect in the case of mega corruption of Electronic ID card, appeared the change of position of the chairman of the House. Vice Chairman of the House of Representatives Agus Hermanto said the change of position of the Speaker of the House was entirely the authority of the Golkar Party.

“All of it certainly has the right and authority of the Golkar Party because the presence of Novanto as Chairman of the House is an extension or a duty of the Golkar Party,” said Agus at Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday November 17, 2017.

Vice Chairman of the House explained, it does not have the authority to disable Setya Novanto from the position of Chairman of the House of Representation. On the basis of it his side fully handed the decision to the Golkar faction in the House of Representation.

“The full authority is the authority of the Golkar Party,” he concluded.

Previously Setya Novanto was eight times absent from the examination call as a witness in the case of alleged corruption procurement e-ID card. Finally, on November 15, 2017, Novanto returned absent when called as a suspect.

KPK has officially re-established Setya Novanto as suspect of alleged corruption case e-ID card, fiscal year 2011-2012. The appointment of a Novanto suspect based on the publication of Sprindik on 31 October 2017, allegedly violates Article 2 paragraph (1) subsider Article 3 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 Year 1999 as already amended in Law Number 20 Year 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Juncto Article 55 paragraph (1 ) to the Criminal Code.
