Papuan Millennials Enthusiastically Welcome Papua Youth Creative Hub

Jayapura – The Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building has been inaugurated by President Joko Widodo. The building which is located in Wahno Village, Abepura District, Jayapura Regency, Papua Province was built in order to develop the talents of the young generation of Papua. The existence of PYCH was enthusiastically welcomed by the younger generation in Papua.

President Jokowi said, there is still a lot of potential for quality Human Resources (HR) in Papua that has not been explored and developed. 

President Jokowi also appreciated the enthusiasm of Papuan youths in welcoming PYCH which facilitated capacity and competency development in many fields such as animal husbandry, fisheries, agriculture, creative industries, fashion and many others. 

“Why did we build PYCH? It’s because we want to provide opportunities for young people who have creativity, innovation, and a high desire in various fields. What is fashion, the creative industry, whatever is good so that everyone has a chance. Because Papua has a huge opportunity,” said President Jokowi during the inauguration of the PYCH Building.

Head of BIN Gen. Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan said that currently the level of public satisfaction with the President in Papua has reached 80 percent, which is the highest average nationally. Through this inauguration, PYCH will become the Presidential Gold Ink Legacy in Papua.

“The inauguration of PYCH is a form of the President’s commitment to building a Papuan talent center as a driving force for the economy and prosperity of Papua. PYCH will create jobs for business and economic development as well as arts and culture, and many other developments,” said Kapala BIN.

Meanwhile, Elia Musa Rawar, a Papuan youth leader, expressed his gratitude to President Joko Widodo and BIN Chief Gen. Police (Purn) Budi Gunawan for helping young Papuans to have facilities and infrastructure to support the foundation for community welfare development in the land of Papua.

“We thank Mr. President Jokowi and the Head of BIN Mr. Budi Gunawan for the construction of the PYCH Building,” said Elijah.

The same thing was also conveyed by a young Papuan figure, George Sea, who gave his support to President Joko Widodo for the construction of PYCH.

“I express my deep appreciation for President Jokowi’s concern with building the Papua Youth Creative Hub,” said George Sea.

In this PYCH will teach about information technology. They are trained to be internet literate and use it to do business on an international scale.

Apart from learning about information technology, creative youths are also taught about self-development, such as how to communicate well (using English), internet marketing techniques, how to manage a business, and so on. []
