Choirul Fuadi, Central Kalimantan, CIDISS – Illegal logging in the area of protected forest River Mangkutub, Mentangai district, Regency Kapuas has assumed already large-scale and environmentally destructive. Department of Forestry (Dishut) Central kalimantan, natural resources and Conservation (BKSDA), Environmental Agencies Kalteng (BLH) Kalteng and Police of Central Kalimantan is urged to promptly handle it.
The head of Dishut Kalteng, Sipet Hermanto said that it constrained budget to come down and do an action. Besides that, they also need to coordinate with the police because the community will be faced people with when in the field.
Sipet said that illegal logging in the river of Mangkutub is a result of the forest fires that occurred some time ago. Many of the economic resources of the community are broken, so that the logging option. Then it will act after coordinating with other relevant agencies and the budget available.
It is presented the head of Publicist Polda Kalteng, AKBP Pambudi Rahayu. According to him, Polda Kalteng yet will move to the location of illegal logging. For, there needs to be coordination along with Dishut and BKSDA Kalteng .
Manager Mawas Program of Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS), Jhanson Regalino says, its conditions in the field are very urgent. “If action is not taken soon will affect significantly to population of orangutans as well as its own,” he said, such as in Borneo News on Thursday (14/1/2016).
Jhanson explain, if in one month about 2 thousands of log wood taken from forests, there are about one thousand trees are cut down. According to him, this will disrupt the habitat of animals and the balance of the ecosystem.
