The State Intelligence Agency (BIN) helped distribute aid to the Cianjur earthquake victims. Not only setting up Command Posts, BIN also distributed assistance from various parties which were handed over directly to the Post. On this occasion, BIN also distributed assistance from the Divia Cita (IDC) 83 Wives Association, which was coordinated by Mrs. Susilowati Budi Gunawan.
Main Inspector of BIN, Eman Sungkowo, stated that his party was assisting the distribution of aid from IDC 83 for residents in Kampung Gunung Lanjung. The assistance is expected to meet the various needs of the community
“We provide assistance in the form of groceries, pampers for children, milk, and others,” said Eman, Saturday (11/26).
The number of refugees in Kampung Gunung Lanjung 1, RT 1/RW 6 is quite large, namely around 500 people, 80 of whom are toddlers. It is hoped that these aids can be used properly by displaced residents, especially pampers for children.
“Hopefully, in the future the community can be helped by this assistance,” explained Eman.
Not only providing humanitarian assistance to refugees, BIN also brought in a Medical Intelligence Team (MI) to serve the health of residents in evacuation sites. The presence of the MI Team is intended so that residents in evacuation can consult health problems and gain access to treatment.
“All of these are instructions and directions from the Head of BIN Prof. Dr. Budi Gunawan and are controlled by West Java Kabinda Brigadier General Ruddy,” explained Eman.
Previously, BIN Deputy VII Prabawa Ajie said the assistance from IDC 83 which was transported by two trucks was very beneficial for the community.
“This assistance from IDC 83 is very helpful to the BIN Humanitarian Team in meeting the needs of the refugees that we accommodate here and in the surrounding affected villages,” said Ajie.
He added, BIN together with IDC 83 are committed to continuing to ease the burden on the victims affected by the earthquake in Cianjur. One way is through the provision of logistical assistance, medicines, health services, and others.
The BIN Command Post in Cijedil Village, Kec. Cugenang has 5 large-capacity refugee tents and 6 health service post tents. Meanwhile, the total number of refugees to date at the BIN Post has reached more than 300 people and could continue to grow.
