Academics Support Indonesia’s Chair at the 2023 ASEAN Summit

West Manggarai – Various parties hope that Indonesia will succeed in carrying out its duties as host of the 42nd ASEAN Summit which will be held in Labuan Bajo on 9-11 May 2023.

Director of el Bajo Commodus Polytechnic, Prof. Dr. I Nengah Dasi Astawa, M. Si, said he fully supports the implementation of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo.

“Very happy and fully support the implementation of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo. Hopefully it will go smoothly and God will bless and protect all of us, including all the delegates who came from ASEAN countries,” said the Director of the el Bajo Commodus Polytechnic.

He also hopes that Indonesia will succeed in hosting the 42nd ASEAN Summit which will be held in Labuan Bajo on 9-11 May 2023.

Meanwhile, the Institute for Public Policy Studies (LKKP) assessed that the implementation of the 42nd ASEAN Summit should be able to provide benefits for the Indonesian people.

“Hopefully this activity will bring great and positive benefits to us, the community and the country,” said the Director of LKKP, Vincent Awey.

According to him, Indonesia as the host will also attract a lot of foreign attention, as well as introduce and show ASEAN Summit participants how Labuan Bajo is Indonesia’s super priority tourist destination.

On the other hand, Makara Insight Researcher Satya Aji Pratama, S.Kom said the ASEAN Summit which will be held in Labuan Bajo next May will have many positive impacts for Indonesia, especially for the Indonesian economy.

According to him, the entire series of events held in Indonesia during 2023 related to the 2023 ASEAN Summit provided an economic boost for Indonesia directly and was able to provide an increase in Indonesia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

“From an economic standpoint, the entire series of events for the 2023 ASEAN Summit will provide direct benefits for Indonesia, especially in boosting economic growth,” he said.
