Jakarta – SOE Minister Erick Thohir who ran as a candidate for General Chair of PSSI for the 2023-2027 period was flooded with support, namely from the Indonesian national team striker when he won the gold medal at the 1991 SEA Games, Peri Sandria to Indonesian footballers from various regions.

According to Peri Sandria, Erick Thohir has experience in the world of football, even at the international level. Erick was also successful when leading and managing one of the European giants, Inter Milan, this proved that Erick was capable of becoming PSSI chairman for the 2023-2027 period.

“He has been tested while still holding the Inter Milan club and is very professional and includes success there,” said Peri Sandria.

The same support also came from the management of the Kalteng Men’s football club who openly supported Erick Thohir to become the new chairman of PSSI. This support was expressed directly by the Deputy CEO of Central Kalimantan Putra, Rahmat Nasution Hamka.

Rahmat Nasution explained that his party had indeed been waiting for Erick Thorir’s name to become PSSI chairman for the 2023-2027 period. According to him, Erick Thohir had the capacity to become PSSI chairman.

In a different place, the same support was also conveyed by the Chairman of Asprov PSSI Bangka Belitung, Mintra Jaya by ensuring that he gave voice support to the former owner of the Italian League Serie A Club Intel Milan.

According to him, the choice went to Erick Thohir after receiving input from the PSSI Bangka Belitung Asprov management and communication from other Asprov.

“One of Erick Thohir’s caketum commitments is that he promised to fix Indonesian football without finding fault but dissolving a solution starting from competition problems, referees, supporters and the PSSI body,” said Mintra Jaya, who is familiarly called Akwen.

On the other hand, Erick Thohir is optimistic that he will bring his experience in managing ecosystems at the Ministry of BUMN to PSSI. Erick convinced himself to bring big changes to PSSI.

“God willing, in SOEs I have a very good team and the results are Alhamdulillah already there, just look at SOE profits which were Rp. 13 trillion to Rp. 124 trillion and God willing, this year Rp. 200 trillion. We are also maximizing the BUMN ecosystem, regarding health, food, energy, opening jobs based on the data,” said Erick Thohir.

The same enthusiasm as Erick Thohir regarding the improvement of PSSI was also conveyed by the PSSI Technical Director, Indra Sjafri. According to him, the new Ketum PSSI must have a vision of at least five pillars that can be continuously improved for the development of football in the country.

“There are at least five things that must be improved, namely infrastructure, curriculum, coach development (HR), player development, and competition,” he explained, Wednesday (15/2).

In a discussion program at a private television station, Indra Sjafri revealed that the supporters and several other parties, including the chairman, had so far seemed to only focus on competition and achievement. Competition will not be able to develop properly if it is not supported by several other important things.

“In fact, related to this matter, it will not be possible to obtain it if it is not supported by good infrastructure. Infrastructure is very important including the curriculum, then the availability of trainers must also be a lot, “he added.

Therefore, he advised the General Chairperson of PSSI who will be elected at the next Extraordinary Congress (KLB) to be able to improve technically as well as upstream.
