For the Sake of Papua’s Security, Community Leaders Support Firm Action by Security Forces Against OPM

Jayapura – In order to create a safe and conducive environment in Papua, various community leaders have voiced their support for the firm measures taken by security forces against the Free Papua Movement (OPM).
Papuan community leader Martinus Kasuay stated that they fully support the efforts of the security apparatus aimed at upholding the law and maintaining peace for the people.
“As community leaders in Papua, we support the actions taken by the security forces against those who commit inhumane acts,” said Martinus.
A firm stance against separatist groups is seen as part of the state’s responsibility to protect all citizens of Papua. Martinus also stressed that the violent acts carried out by OPM have harmed the community, especially women and children who live in constant fear.
“We also hope that the security forces, TNI and Polri, will be firm in dealing with OPM members who commit cruel acts that defy human behavior. Therefore, we urge the authorities to take strong action,” he added.
Martinus further expressed that the people of Papua fully support the government’s efforts to resolve separatism and restore peace in the Land of Cendrawasih.
“We support the security forces in taking firm and decisive actions for the welfare and peace of the people in Papua,” he continued.
This support is expected to strengthen the resolve of security forces in carrying out their noble duty and reinforce the unity and integrity of the Indonesian nation.
“We fully support the firm actions taken by the security forces, as this is a crucial step in enforcing the law and ensuring a sense of security for the people of Papua,” Martinus concluded.
