President Prabowo Listens to Public Aspirations, 3 Kg LPG Retailers Reactivated
Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto has shown his commitment to listening to and following up on the aspirations of the community regarding the distribution of 3 Kg LPG. In a concrete step, Prabowo instructed the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) to partially reactivate 3 Kg LPG retailers to ensure that the community continues to have easy access to the subsidized fuel.
Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that this decision was taken in response to the needs of the community, especially those who depend on 3 Kg LPG in their daily lives.
“President Prabowo has instructed the Minister of ESDM to partially reactivate 3 Kg LPG gas retailers. He also ordered the ministry to ensure that retailers do not sell at high prices to the community. Retailers must continue to run their businesses in an orderly manner so that there are no price deviations at the consumer level,” said Dasco.
In addition, the government is also trying to streamline the administration for retailers so that they can operate as sub-base agents at more affordable prices. This step is expected to create a balance between public access to subsidized LPG and distribution supervision to be more transparent.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, emphasized that there is no shortage of 3 Kg LPG, considering that the distribution volume in 2024 and 2025 will be maintained.
“The government has prepared LPG needs according to the plan that has been set. Currently, we are designing regulations so that retailers can change their status to official depots, so that people can get more appropriate prices when buying directly at the depot,” said Bahlil.
Meanwhile, Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, stated that the government wants to ensure that the 3 Kg LPG subsidy is truly on target.
He emphasized that the previous policy of eliminating retailers was not to make things difficult for the public, but rather to control distribution so that there is no misuse of subsidies.
“We want to ensure that only those who are entitled receive the benefits of this LPG subsidy. This step aims to make distribution more orderly and no party is harmed,” said Prasetyo.
This policy was welcomed positively by the public, especially those who previously had difficulty obtaining subsidized LPG due to the elimination of retailers.
With a more flexible and systematic approach, it is hoped that the distribution of 3 Kg LPG can run better and still prioritize the interests of the common people.
The government continues to invite the public to support this policy by continuing to buy 3 Kg LPG at official locations so that prices remain under control and distribution is more organized. Active participation by the public in supporting targeted subsidy policies will help maintain the availability of LPG for those who really need it. {%}
