The administration of President Joko Widodo continues to be committed to realizing reliable infrastructure development in the Provinces of Papua and West Papua. This aims to reduce the high poverty rate, reduce the expensive index and equitable distribution of infrastructure development.

Various infrastructures have been built as a form of President Joko Widodo’s administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of the Papuan people. One of the infrastructures built to improve the welfare of the Papuan people is the construction of the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building. The Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building was magnificently built and has complete facilities. The facility is to support the interests, talents and creativity of young people in the Land of Papua.

President Joko Widodo believes that Papua Province is one of the provinces in Indonesia which is rich in potential natural resources (SDA). This province has high-value mineral resources, abundant forest products, river resources for large power plants, as well as other potentials such as the extraordinary beauty of natural panoramas.

Papua is one of the areas rich in natural resources in Indonesia. However, this wealth has not been able to be used optimally. Mastery by several foreign parties and the lack of involvement of local residents in managing Papua’s local assets resulted in the poverty rate in Papua reaching 27.43% in the second half of 2018 which is the highest rate of 34 provinces in Indonesia and is above the average poverty rate. nationally, namely 9.66% (BPS, 2018).

The PYCH building, which is one of the government’s efforts in equal distribution of national development, will be inaugurated directly by President Joko Widodo. The Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building was initiated by the Head of BIN, General Pol (Purn) Prof. Budi Gunawan, SH, MSi together with President Ir. H. Joko Widodo was enthusiastically welcomed by the youth and people of Papua. The Republic of Indonesia’s State Intelligence Agency (BIN), which trains young people at PMI, fully supports the building which will become a center for self-development of young talents in the region nicknamed Cenderawasih Earth.

This building will later be used and utilized by Inspiring Young Papua (PMI) in carrying out its work programs for the welfare of the people in Papua and West Papua. PMI will later collaborate, develop themselves and continue to be the motor for the development of young human resources in Cenderawasih Earth.

PMI together with BIN have successfully implemented various successful programs in improving the welfare of the Papuan people. PMI and BIN’s success programs in this field include the development of Laying Chicken Farms in Kab. Jayapura, Pig Farm Owned by Albert Burwas Kab, Manokwari West Papua, PMI Cattle Workshop Bomberay District Kab. Fak – Fak, MSME Assistance from the Generation of End Times Workshop and Gallery (GAZ) Kab. Merauke, coaching SMEs at the inauguration of the PYCH Building in Jayapura Regency, coaching Creative Industries at the PYCH Building, Kab. Jayapura.

One of the successful programs of PMI and BIN is a pig farm owned by Albert Burwas District, Manokwari, West Papua. This pig farm owned by Albert Burwas is directly supervised by PMI and BIN. Albert Burwas is one of 8 groups of pig breeders fostered by PMI in West Papua and Papua. Albert Buwas admitted that he has experience as a pig farmer for 12 years and so far has owned 105 pigs. He hopes that PMI and the people of Manokwari Regency will hopefully give birth to 105 pigs and increase to 1,000 to 2,000 in the future.

Albert also said that he also hoped that the development and progress in animal husbandry could inspire people in Manokwari Regency, specifically the youth in Manokwari Regency to be able to share the enthusiasm to develop a pig farming business in Manokwari Regency.

BIN and PMI also provide guidance and assistance to MSMEs from the Studio and Gallery of the Generation of End Times (GAZ) Kab. Merauke. Through this studio, various young Papuan children are fostered in developing their creations and talents to be able to develop the Papua region. an end-time generation studio that was founded in 2009 which aims to treat street children and also children. In this studio, PMI and BIN coach young Papuans to be able to develop MSMEs. Assistance from PMI and BIN has provided many benefits to the young people there. These children have started to express themselves such as crocheting crocodile skin, asmat carving, seafood and pastries.

And the results of the assistance by PMI and BIN have been partially exported abroad, such as the UK as well as Europe and also domestically. Marketing carried out online and offline over the past year. At the beginning of the establishment of this studio, the number of children was 155 children. But when there was assistance from PMI and also BIN our number became 325 children. With the development of MSMEs through the End of Ages Generation (GAZ) galleries and galleries, it is hoped that they can boost the economy in the Papua region.

So, with the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building which will be used by PMI children assisted by BIN in carrying out programs to improve the welfare of the Papuan people, this will also help President Joko Widodo’s Government program to accelerate welfare development in the Provinces of Papua and West Papua according to presidential instruction number 9 of 2020. The PYCH building will also become a pivot in the development of Papuan human resources (HR) so that they can increase their interests and talents and be able to create works as part of activities to pump up the economy of the people of Papua and West Papua Provinces.
