Supporting the smooth running of the 2023 ASEAN Summit, West Manggarai Regent Prepares Large Parking Area
Labuan Bajo — In order to support the smooth running of the entire 2023 ASEAN Summit, the West Manggarai Regent prepared a large parking area for the vehicles of the guest delegates.
It is known that at least the land in the courtyard of the West Manggarai Regent’s office can accommodate up to 12 electric vehicles and is also projected to be a vehicle parking area belonging to the Heads of State participating in the 2023 ASEAN Summit.
“The priority is parking in the yard of the regent’s office, there are 12 cars. 11 cars of Heads of State and 1 car belonging to the Secretary of ASEAN,” explained Edistasis Endi as Regent of West Manggarai.
Even though it has been estimated that there will be around 12 vehicles, according to him, it does not rule out the possibility of an additional number of vehicles. The reason is, indeed the land prepared for the parking bag is quite wide.
So that the vehicles of the ministers or other ASEAN 2023 Summit delegates can still be parked there. Not only that, but Regent Edi added that there were also additional facilities in the form of an electricity charging station.
“It is still possible for vehicles belonging to ministers or other participants to park there. There will also be an electricity charging station which is currently being built,” he said.
Regarding electric charging facilities for electric vehicles delegates to the ASEAN Summit 2023, Manager of the Labuan Bajo Customer Service Unit (ULP), Ridwan stated that as many as 7 units of Ultra Fast Charging Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) will be installed. Then, there are other additional facilities, namely as many as 25 Home Charging units.
According to Ridwan, not only in the courtyard of the Regent’s Office, but according to Ridwan, the installation of electric charging facilities for vehicles will also be carried out at several other points such as hotels and tourist areas. Some have started to be planned as direct instructions from the Ministry of State Secretariat.
“Meanwhile, it is planned that in Ujung Village, Hotel Jayakarta, Waterfront, ASDP Harbor parking, Puncak Waringin, Ayana Hotel and Sudamala Hotel according to the instructions of the Ministry of State Secretary,” he said.
To support the transfer or transition of energy towards the use of new and renewable energy (EBT), Indonesia as Chair of the 2023 ASEAN Summit has also prepared as many as 250 electric vehicles. The entire electric vehicle will be used for heads of state and delegates.
“There are 250 electric vehicles that will be prepared for heads of state and delegates participating in the ASEAN Summit,” said Ridwan.
In this regard, Chair of the Labuan Bajo Land Tour Transport Association, Jhon Dacosta greatly appreciates the holding of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo and will fully support the holding of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo.
“We agree and fully support the holding of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo and we are very grateful to the central government for choosing Labuan Bajo as the venue for the 42nd ASEAN Summit,” he said.
