West Manggarai Interfaith Figures Greet Positively the Arrival of the Participants of the 42nd ASEAN Summit

NTT – Interfaith leaders in West Manggarai Regency expressed their support for the implementation of the 42nd ASEAN Summit which was held in Labuan Bajo.

Chairman of the GMIT Mount Zalmon Congregational Assembly Labuan Bajo West Flores Class, Pastor Yeni Sofiany Isliko revealed that his party welcomed the ASEAN Summit event positively.

“Welcome to the participants of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in 2023 in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, which is known as a Super Priority tourism destination,” said Pastor Yeni

He also prayed that the ASEAN Summit 2023, which this time carries the theme ASEAN Matter: Epicentrum of Growth, can run successfully and really give a lot of positive impacts to society.

“Our prayers, God bless the ASEAN Leaders with reverence, so that they can attend the meeting properly and successfully and have a positive impact on world and regional economic development, become the engine of peace and prosperity,” said Pastor Yeni

Furthermore, the Member of the Forum for Religious Harmony or FKUB West Manggarai also hopes that all participants and delegates to the 42nd ASEAN Summit who come to Labuan Bajo can enjoy nature tourism. Not only that, it is believed that holding this international event will have a positive impact on the local economy.

“Foreign delegates are also expected to become tourism ambassadors (Labuan Bajo) in their respective countries,” he added

In a similar vein, the Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Branch (PCNU) of West Manggarai Regency, Haji Ishak Muhamad Jabi emphasized his support for the continuation of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo.

“Ready to support and succeed in the implementation of the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo,” he said

Not to forget, he also invited all parties to visit Labuan Bajo which is famous for its natural beauty.

To note, the 42nd ASEAN Summit on 9-11 May 2023 will be the first of two summits during Indonesia’s chairmanship period in ASEAN in 2023.

As for the 43rd Summit, it is planned to be held in Jakarta in September 2023 which will not only be attended by ASEAN leaders, but also leaders of ASEAN partner countries.
