The efforts of the PUPR Ministry to accelerate Earthquake Management in Palu and Donggala

Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (Ministry of PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono continue the field review to Petebo and lead a meeting on emergency response measures which are the responsibility of the Ministry of PUPR. First, evacuation of disaster victims in Balaroa and Petobo, where in severe areas caused by earthquakes. It is estimated that there are still many people buried under the rubble.

For this purpose, 9 excavators in Petobo and 5 excavators in Balaroa will be mobilized from Sulawesi III River Region Hall (BWS), XIV National Road Implementation Agency (BPJN) and BUMN and private contractors.

Secondly, the provision of facilities and infrastructure in the 80s of evacuation points and densely populated settlements. For this reason, starting Sunday night 30 September 2018, 3 dump trucks have been mobilized to transport 15 public hydrants (HU) with a capacity of 2,000 liters per second, as well as two mobile water tanks, 15 portable WCs and 10 emergency tents.

Third, in order to clean up the city, mobilized three dump trucks and two excavators. The Ministry of PUPR in collaboration with the City Government began to gradually clear the debris.

Basuki asserted, within the next 2 weeks at the latest, he will be finished with the appointment (city washing).

Fourth, ensuring accessibility ensures smooth flow of logistics to Palu City from the direction of Makassar, Gorontalo and Poso, such as repairing two bridges in Towalen and in Toyobo.

In addition, it also provides vulnerable places such as the Kebon Kopi area that connects the City of Palu with Parigi – Poso and the City of Palu with Gorontalo.
