The existence of the Papua region within the framework of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia seems to be distracted by those who want it to be separated from the archipelago. However, the fact is that most Papuans consider Indonesia to be their big house.

The government’s effort in rectifying perceptions that are already “tilted” or deliberately “tilted” by certain political interests, does require extra patience, and must be continuous. Judging from the results of the Act of Free Choice in 1969, Papua should be part of the Republic of Indonesia already inviolable.

Not only one-sided, its ratification also involved the United Nations which has protected the countries of the world. Also thousands of Papuans who claim to be part of the Homeland. Then why after 74 years of Indonesian independence did this right continue to be debated? Are there other goals or indications? Or indeed there are political interests to the like?

Given the demonstrations that led to chaos in several cities in Papua, it has been indicated as the beginning of the ignition of the Papuan Independence prosecution. Injury to human rights by perpetrators of student racism in Surabaya which is then used to voice wounds that have long been buried.

The separatist who is suspected of wanting to release Papua into an independent state, filed a review of Law No. 12 of 1969 concerning the Establishment of the Province of Irian Jaya (now the Provinces of Papua and West Papua). The basis of the lawsuit used was violence and protracted human rights violations on Bumi Cendrawasih.

An overview of the implementation of the Act was attended by several related parties, including Papuans, youth leaders as well as other members. In the implementation of the data obtained if most of the people of Papua declare themselves to join the NKRI.

The results of this Act have been finalized following the endorsement by the United Nations through Resolution 2509 and ratified by the Indonesian government through Presidential Decree number 7 of 1971 ago. The main thing about this problem is the indication of fraud and intimidation that makes Papua not dare to speak out. Even though the fact is that this has never been proven, so that the consequences will only cause endless conflict.

The Indonesian government has understood that the method used for the Act is to be handed over to Indonesia. Which gets a cross-understanding by some who are counter to this, especially Papuan nationalists. However, in terms of development, it seems that it cannot be compared to when the New Order was in power.

In this Jokowi Era, many people admit that the eastern part of Indonesia has experienced many developments. The infrastructure development sector sped up strongly, the economy began to squirm, and health was the focus of its achievements which were considered very good. Moreover, access to education began to be organized so that the distribution effort was felt to reach the target.

The same thing was agreed by the former President of Timor Leste, Ramos Horta. He expressed his full support for Papua as a unity on the Motherland. Papua should indeed continue to go hand in hand together within the frame of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia. He considered because Papua would prosper with Indonesia.

Apart from all the analysis behind the controversial Pepera results, the Pepera Results are already very final, legitimate end and include all aspects. Because wetness has been recognized and understood throughout the international community.

Based on de facto and de jure (legal) decisions, it was also mentioned that Papua is one body with Indonesia. Not just one or two days, but has accompanied the steps of the archipelago to date. Even the Papua region has entered into the map of Indonesia since 1931, which was made by the Dutch East Indies government.

Government efforts to build dialogue with the people of Papua also need to be appreciated. Do not necessarily corner the government with various accusations that are not necessarily proven true. Because leading a country is not as easy as turning your palm, right?

As a good citizen, it should support all steps that are good for the overall survival of the community. Moreover, the steps to defend Papua from various threats of disintegration experienced many shocks. However, on the other hand there are many parties who provide support so that Papua remains united as an inseparable part of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia.

So that from all the evidences that have been valid nationally and internationally there is no need for anyone to tamper with the existence of the Papua region on the Equatorial Emerald. Everything is clear, Papua is still part of the Republic of Indonesia, the price is dead!
