When the Job Creation Law was passed in March 2023, the government held socialization simultaneously. This event was held so that people would better understand the intent and purpose of making this law, so that there would be no misunderstandings. The Job Creation Law was made for the welfare of the Indonesian people, so that their lives will be even better.
The Job Creation Law is also known as the sweeping law, because it deals with almost various fields. It contains articles dealing with the employment sector, the economy, MSMEs, and investment. It is hoped that the various articles in this law can fix various problems in Indonesia.
Socialization of the Job Creation Law was carried out simultaneously. Outreach events were held in Jakarta and other areas throughout Indonesia. The Task Force for the Acceleration of Dissemination of the Job Creation Law (UUCK Task Force) held socialization as well as joint discussions on the Job Creation Law with chief media editors.
Taking place in the Cabinet Meeting Room of the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg) the discussion was attended by approximately 16 chief editors of various local and national media in Jakarta. This discussion aims to socialize, disseminate the main contents of laws and regulations as well as absorb the aspirations of media leaders regarding the substance of the material contained in the law.
Arief Budimanta, Secretary of the Job Creation Law Task Force started a discussion regarding the essence of the UUCK Task Force, the background of the UUCK and its changes to a Regulation in lieu of Law (perpu). He explained, in 2021 the UUCK will still have a conditional unconstitutional status, which means that within two years, improvements must be made.
In a sense, the Job Creation Law, which was passed in early 2023, is different from the 2020 version of the Job Creation Law. The current law is much better because there are many improvements in its articles. Therefore it needs extensive outreach to the community.
Socialization is a new working mechanism where common knowledge is needed, not only at the center as the legislators but also in the regions. It is also necessary to involve business associations and professions, because this involves various business fields so that they are in line with the business world market as a whole.
The community really appreciates the government’s step in holding direct outreach, because it can be explained what makes the new version of the Job Creation Law even better. They came to understand that this law is very useful for all Indonesian citizens, because there have been renewed regulations in the fields of economics, investment, forestry, employment, etc.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights Edward Omar Sharif stated that the socialization was also accompanied by a two-way discussion so that there would be input from the community. Socialization is not only carried out in DKI Jakarta, but also throughout Indonesia, and it is the task of the Job Creation Law Task Force to do this.
If there is a two-way discussion, the people will really appreciate it because the government is upholding democracy, where the people are allowed to give input on the rules made by the government. Indonesia remains a democracy and will not be changed by liberalism or socialism.
When there is a discussion in the socialization of the Job Creation Law, the public will ask questions and get answers from several articles which they consider to be rather controversial. For example in the employment cluster. Residents will understand that workers are still paid according to the UMR, even though the governor determines the amount. Workers also have the right to get holidays as usual.
The government is intensifying socialization of the Job Creation Law so that people understand the importance of revising the Criminal Code. The community also appreciates and feels happy, because the government is moving quickly in holding socialization. If there is socialization, there will be more people in the community who understand what the articles in the Job Creation Law contain and what reasons prompted the government to make these articles.
Moreover, socialization of the Job Creation Law is not only carried out on social media, but also in the real world. If socialization is carried out directly, the effect will be more powerful because people will understand it better. They were also happy because they could meet directly with the deputy minister and other officials who attended the socialization event, and had audiences and discussed this law properly.
The government will be even more aggressive in socializing the Job Creation Law in various regions in Indonesia. The socialization was highly appreciated by the public because there are several groups who do not understand what the Job Creation Law is and its urgency in regulating the employment, investment and other fields in Indonesia.
Socialization of the Job Creation Law was carried out in DKI Jakarta and other regions in Indonesia. With the socialization carried out by the Job Creation Law Task Force, the public will understand better the importance of this law for the future of Indonesia, and to avoid the risk of a global recession in 2023. The Job Creation Law must be disseminated in order to avoid hoaxes and accusations from unscrupulous persons, so that people do not trust they.
