76

IKN Nusantara will prosper the people of East Kalimantan (Kaltim). Not only for MSME entrepreneurs, but also for artists and cultural figures. Borneo’s local culture will be given more attention by the wider community so that it remains sustainable, and has a positive impact on artists in East Kalimantan.

The State Capital of Indonesia which was built in North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan. This development is a mega project so it takes years. The community is very impressed with the IKN concept, which, although it has not been completed, is already amazing. IKN Nusantara is not just an ordinary capital city, not a mega-city with giant buildings like Jakarta, but will become a sophisticated green city .

The existence of IKN Nusantara is very useful for the people of East Kalimantan, especially those who work as artists and humanists. Deputy Chairperson of the Kutai Indigenous Cultural Institute (LBAK), Misra Budiarto AX, stated that the presence of the Archipelago Capital City (IKN) in East Kalimantan (Kaltim) would later bring benefits to arts and culture actors.

A number of benefits will be obtained and felt. First, it is believed that the construction of the Nusantara National Science Center can raise the local wisdom of Kutai culture . Moreover, Kutai Kartanegara (Kukar) as the location for the construction of the IKN has a strong historical narrative with the oldest kingdom in the archipelago.

Second , Kutai culture can also go global with the presence of IKN. This is because the Authority Body can introduce Kutai culture through state banquets. Therefore, Kutai culture must be more open to be learned by everyone who will come to the Etam Continent.

Misra added, at least at a state banquet later 60 percent could use Kutai culture and other cultures could be developed together. Then, the Kutai art and cultural community can receive special attention from the central government, especially the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf), so that Kutai artist activists can unite ranks to promote Kutai art and culture in East Kalimantan.

Misra and the artists in East Kalimantan are very supportive, with the IKN in East Kalimantan, because the lives of artists and humanists can be greatly helped. He also hopes that the government can resurrect the Kutai Cultural Development Institute (LPKK).

This institution, which has been in a vacuum since 2008, is considered capable of coordinating artists. If counted, it is estimated that there are thousands of artists who have joined LPKK. Starting from singers, musicians, dancers, theater, tarsul, and writers. This institution used to be a pilot project. If there are people who want to learn Kutai culture, it is recommended to come to this institution.

Meanwhile , the Coordinator of the Kutai Kertanegara Student Forum , Aswrinda Hidayat stated that the arrival of the Archipelago Capital City (IKN) to the East Kalimantan region (Kaltim) was a good and positive step for the advancement of Kutai’s local cultural wisdom, so that it would become more widely known .

Aswrinda fully supports the development of President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) mega project in the Land of Borneo. In fact, he hopes that the construction can continue until the government officially moves to the Sepaku region, East Kalimantan. As an active activist also at the Kutai Kartanegara Language and Dastra Council, we still wish and appreciate positively that the development of the Archipelago’s IKN continues.

The presence of IKN in Kalimantan has had a major influence on the distribution of development in Indonesia, with an area stretching from Sabang to Merauke.

With the IKN mega project , the fact is that development in Indonesia is no longer Java-centric, but has shifted and focused on the central and eastern regions of Indonesia. If IKN is still seen as only an issue, this needs to be straightened out, because infrastructure development is getting more massive in the core and supporting areas of IKN.

It is believed that the local language of Kutai will continue to exist in the midst of the development of the IKN, although later parts of the East Kalimantan region will have buildings of a national nature.

Like the Betawi dialect, which was previously not widely known, after Jakarta became the IKN, the Betawi dialect has become slang and modern among today’s youth. It is also hoped that in the future the language and dialect of Koetai Kertanegara will be absorbed into slang or the national vocabulary.

As a speaker of the Kutai language, Aswrinda emphasized that his party is currently intensively educating the Kutai language among young people. This education is carried out for the community so that they continue to use Kutai language as their daily language.

It has become a basic principle, to continue to fight for the Kutai language to be cultivated by the people, not to be eroded. As is known, the Kutai language has been assigned to be included in local content subjects in Kutai Kartanegara (Kukar) Regency, starting from early childhood education to junior high school. The Regional Government also continues to strive so that it also reaches the high school level of education.

By requiring schools to prioritize regional languages, language diversity will be maintained. In the development of IKN, people’s culture with local wisdom must be considered, which will come into contact with modern culture.

IKN Nusantara will prosper the people of East Kalimantan, especially the artists. They will be more developed thanks to the progress of the area. Then, the culture of Kutai, Dayak and other tribes will be given more attention. With the IKN, art and culture in East Kalimantan will be more advanced .
