All facilities and infrastructure at the venue for the 2023 ASEAN Summit, especially in the Labuan Bajo and Tana Mori areas, are ready to receive all heads of state and participating delegations at this international event.

In order to ensure all readiness for the 42nd ASEAN Summit which will be held in 2023 in Indonesia as chairman and host as well, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Basuki Hadimuljono conducted a direct inspection related to infrastructure work for the facilities that will be used to support the implementation of the international event, which will be held from 9 to 11 May 2023 in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT).

Several visits were carried out in various locations, including including Jalan Yohanes Sehadun (which is located in front of the airport or Komodo Airport), then a review of the VVIP parking location at the West Manggarai Regent’s Office, Puncak Waringin, the road and the pedestrian Sp. Silvia to Sp. Binongko, Headquarters of the West Manggarai Police, the promenade in the Marina area, to the Tana Mori Special Economic Zone (KEK), which is one of the venues for the 2023 ASEAN Summit.

Not only did he come to ensure the readiness of all facilities and infrastructure to support the 2023 ASEAN Summit, but Minister Basuki also instructed that all construction work, both in Labuan Bajo and Tana Mori itself, must be carried out using the best methods and quality.

How could it not be, the article is that the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) continues to guarantee that maintenance and quality improvement related to infrastructure can really be carried out even according to international event organizing standards. In all the preparations that have been made, even Indonesia as Chair of ASEAN 2023, is not playing games at all and continues to pay attention to all the quality of the work which is priority number 1 (one), especially on road infrastructure, which continues to improve the quality of asphalt.

Furthermore, the Minister of PUPR then emphasized to all his staff to do all the work so that it can be carried out neatly and cleanly, including continuing to pay attention to aesthetics and greenery in every area of the venue and road corridors on access to the location where heads of state and high-ranking officials meet and all delegates participating in the 42nd ASEAN Summit.

Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the work on all projects is carried out to ensure that the environment in the venue area can be much more beautiful and not arid. Therefore, after all the construction work has been completed, immediately proceed with cleaning all the remaining material and spraying it with water.

It can be seen that the Government of Indonesia is not playing games at all in carrying out readiness for all facilities and infrastructure, especially in each area including the road media and pedestrian paths, which continue to plant various kinds of plants such as flamboyant trees, NTT cherry blossoms, coconuts and so on. .

It is known that there has been an increase in all supporting facilities for the 2023 ASEAN Summit which was held in Labuan Bajo and Tana Mori by the Ministry of PUPR through the National Road Infrastructure Center (BPJN) NTT Directorate General (Dirjen) Highways. Of course, with an increase in all facilities through efforts to arrange the area and road corridors, the aim is to be able to support security and comfort during the holding of the international event.

Progress on work to increase supporting facilities in the Labuan Bajo area has even continued to increase significantly thanks to the efforts of the Government of Indonesia. Then the data shows that progress on work in Tana Mori SEZ has reached above 94% (percent), where the target for completion of all work is in early May 2023 before the ASEAN Summit is held.

Meanwhile, careful preparation does not only occur for road facilities, but also for transportation facilities and infrastructure. Therefore, the Minister of Transportation (Menhub RI), Budi Karya Sumadi has also checked all matters to support the smooth mobility of state leaders and participants in the 2023 ASEAN Summit delegation.

One of the things reviewed by the Minister of Transportation is Komodo Airport which will be the landing place for the delegations and official teams from both Indonesia and ASEAN member countries and partner countries. The Government of Indonesia also continues to ensure that there is support from the transportation sector so that it can run very well, to be able to participate in the success of holding the ASEAN Summit, as well as repeating the success of the international event led by Indonesia at the G20 Summit some time ago.

All guests and delegations participating in the 2023 ASEAN Summit will be spoiled with all the maturity and readiness that has been prepared by the Government of Indonesia, especially at the event venues in Labuan Bajo and Tana Mori, where the certainty of the readiness of facilities and infrastructure continues to be carried out.
