All the best personnel from the security forces to the preparation of defense equipment have been carried out to support the successful holding of the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo. All unexpected disturbances have been anticipated from the start so that the event can really run smoothly.

In 2023 this will be the 5 (five) times that Indonesia has been trusted and lined up to hold the Chair of ASEAN. This time, Indonesia carries the big theme ‘ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth’ which means that this nation really wants ASEAN to remain important and relevant to the whole society and the world.

Moreover, indeed after the success with the Presidency of the Group of Twenty (G20) some time ago, it is a great achievement for the country because it is again trusted to play an important role on the international stage.

Of course, with all the world’s trust placed on Indonesia’s shoulders, every event which is indeed chaired by this nation must be made as much as possible so that it can run very smoothly, orderly and safely without unexpected disturbances.

Regarding this matter, the TNI Commander, Admiral Yudo Margono explained that his soldiers would be deployed optimally to ensure that the 2023 ASEAN Summit from 9 to 11 May 2023 in Labuan Bajo could run smoothly. As the person in charge of security, he emphasized that he had a strong commitment to ensure everything went well and had held various meetings with many related institutions.

Chief of Staff of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Air Force (KSAU), Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo admitted that his personnel from the Indonesian Air Force were very ready to be able to support the entire 42nd Summit of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) which will be held in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) in May 2023.

This readiness is really mature and not a joke, because the Indonesian Air Force has prepared personnel and the main weapons system (alutsista) equipment. Furthermore, Marshal Fadjar also appealed to all other unit commanders who are related to securing the activities of the 2023 ASEAN Summit to be able to prepare their personnel and defense equipment to be directly involved in the field and report it to the upper command.

The KSAU also ordered that the unit be involved in inventorying all the needs needed to be able to support the operation of securing this international event much more optimally. According to him, all needs must be properly supported, including the need for complete personnel and equipment needed during the activity.

Meanwhile, it shows how very thorough preparations have been carried out by all security forces from joint personnel of the TNI, the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), at the preparatory meeting for the 42nd ASEAN Summit which was held at Headquarters (Mabes ) TNI, TNI Commander, Admiral Yudo Margono emphasized that all forms of threats must be anticipated as early as possible.

All of these threats really cannot be tolerated, including for example the sudden demonstration of action during the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, which is also considered a threat. Therefore, his party has prepared an emergency response plan.

So, for example, suddenly during the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Indonesia there were a number of people who held rallies or demonstrations, they would immediately close the road access leading to the venue so that anticipation could be made even from the start.

Not only about demonstrations, but Admiral Yudo also explained several other possible threats such as natural disasters, earthquakes and livestock roaming. He revealed that natural disasters cannot be predicted at all, but anticipation efforts can continue to be made, including the possibility of pets roaming the streets, which will be immediately anticipated by closing access to the venue.

The TNI Commander also explained that he had prepared the Republic of Indonesia Warships (KRI) to be able to ensure the security and safety of the ASEAN delegations who were present from as many as 11 (eleven) countries. The KRI was prepared because the venue for the ASEAN Summit was indeed on the seafront and close to waters.

The success of holding the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo is indeed a fixed price for Indonesia as the chairman of the organizers, because this nation has been trusted by the world several times in leading international-level events, so don’t let this event be marred by unwanted disturbances. Therefore, all the security forces mobilized their best personnel, even to the preparation of defense equipment to support the success of the event.
