The Indonesian economy, which had fallen due to the stormy attack of the Covid-19 pandemic, is trying to be revived by the government, one of which is by enacting the Job Creation Law. This law will change people’s lives to be prosperous, because there will be changes in the fields of investment, employment, licensing, and others.

It is believed that the Job Creation Law will absorb labor while reducing poverty. This was stated by University of Indonesia economic observer Fithra Faisal at a webinar organized by Communi&co with the theme “Whom the Law Creates for” on 14 April 2023.

“The Ciptaker Law was able to create the widest possible employment opportunities, besides that it was also able to increase the economic growth target at a minimum, so that Indonesia would be released from the middle-class economy,” said Fithra Faisal.

Apart from that, according to Fithra, the government’s good intention to pass the Job Creation Law is to create a stable investment climate this year by providing legal certainty for investors.

“So far, investors still do not have a clear legal umbrella when they invest in Indonesia, and therefore they really need a legal umbrella in a short time, one of which is through the ratification of the Ciptaker Law,” added Fithra.

The same thing was conveyed by the Special Staff of the Minister of State Secretariat (Mensesneg), Faldo Maldini, who said that the Job Creation Law was very beneficial to workers and workers, but Faldo really regretted that there were still many workers who still did not understand and misinterpreted the Job Creation Law.

“There is something else as if this law is said to be not pro-labor, even though in fact in this law everything has also been regulated because trade unions can speak freely. Broadly speaking, there are many bureaucratic regulations that actually make it longer, complicated and more difficult, which has an impact on companies and MSMEs who now don’t need to be afraid of bureaucracy,” said Faldo, who was invited as one of the speakers at the webinar.

Faldo added and advised the workers’ group friends who reject the existence of this Ciptaker Law and consider that this regulation only benefits big companies, so we should not only look at a rule from one side, but in the life of a nation, we must look at the horizon with more broadly because Indonesia is so big that we have to pay attention to the fate of our friends in other regions in terms of equity, added Faldo.

In the same place, Secretary General of the Central Governing Body for the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (BPP HIPMI) Anggawira highlighted that HIPMI supports and oversees the process of applying and implementing the Job Creation Law.

“According to HIPMI, the Ciptaker Law is also a solution to labor problems in Indonesia, including the UMP, which is a solution for equal distribution of wages for workers in each region and not just relying on one area, HIPMI will oversee the process,” said Anggawira.

Meanwhile, the Founder of the Indonesian Intelligent Communication Movement (GCKI), Ellys L Pambayun highlighted the style of communication between the Government and the Indonesian Parliament regarding the Job Creation Law so that it received positive responses and votes.

“They (the government and DPR RI) must have political communication that is not too macro with national objects, but the government can support communication that better accommodates the voices of the people who are actually micro but more representative of the community, so that the communication is not only top-down. , but there is mutual communication” said Ellys.

Ellys advised that the public should be the subject of communication, not the object of communication, so that the public and the community must be proactively involved in supporting the Job Creation Law.
