Community Figures Support the Implementation of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo

Labuan Bajo – Community Leader of Golo Mori Village Muhammad Udin, expressed his joy over the choice of Labuan Bajo as the location for the ASEAN Summit.

Muhammad Udin also supports the success of the event and encourages the Regional Government to continue to carry out infrastructure repairs and development.

“I hope that the West Manggarai Regional Government will be more intense in utilizing its natural potential, repairing what needs to be repaired and providing access to the local community so that they can benefit from existing development facilities,” he said

The Regional Government of both NTT Province, West Manggarai Regency and the Central Government continue to optimize preparations to promote Labuan Bajo as a super premium tourist destination to the world

One of the efforts that have been taken is the construction of adequate road infrastructure on the Golowelu Labuan Bajo East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) road, which is also known as Tana Mori.

According to the community leader of Golo Mori Village, a number of obstacles in the construction of the Golo Mori road can still be resolved.

“Various obstacles encountered in the process of completing the construction of the Golo Mori road came from the affected communities, but all of that was not a big problem, these were small pebbles to make Labuan Bajo even better,” said Muhammad Udin

Likewise, the head of Warloka Suwandy Village, appreciated the various preparations made by the Government and the community in welcoming the ASEAN Summit.

“What the government has done for the community is good, I hope the community can maintain and preserve it. Our region being prepared to host the Asean Summit is an extraordinary thing, this is an opportunity for us to be more famous, the community must support the success of this event, this is extraordinary,” he said

For information, the ASEAN Summit in Indonesia carries the theme “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth”.

The 2023 ASEAN Summit, the first on May 9-11 in Labuan Bajo and followed by the second in September in Jakarta.
