West Manggarai – The holding of the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo is considered to have a positive impact on post-pandemic economic recovery, including in the tourism sector, because Indonesia is again entrusted with holding the Chair of ASEAN 2023.

Advisory Board of the Indonesian Fighter Tourism Association (IFTA), Budi Mawardi said that the 2023 ASEAN Summit series of events is considered to be a very special event for the Indonesian side because it can promote tourism that is spread across Indonesia and boost the local economy.

“We know that tourism in Indonesia is very diverse, from ecotourism to sporturism, everything can be done in Indonesia, of course local MSMEs will come back,” said Budi Mawardi.

Budi explained, the next advantage of holding the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo is because Indonesia still has many areas that have not been explored at all in terms of tourism, moreover Labuan Bajo is a super priority tourist destination.

This is what drives IFTA as an association to work closely with tourism people to try to continue exploring and introducing new destinations so that they can be raised to the surface and introduced to the ASEAN community through the 2023 ASEAN Summit.

“On this occasion, IFTA is ready and supports the success of the ASEAN Summit and encourages IFTA members to jointly promote Indonesian Tourism, especially in Labuan Bajo and its surroundings, because the Labuan Bajo area is very good and deserves to be continuously promoted,” added Budi Mawardi.

The natural beauty of Labuan Bajo is a huge potential, and the implementation of the 2023 ASEAN Summit will be training for business actors there to serve world-class tourism products with international operational standards.
