MLBB Women’s National Team Wins Gold, High Appreciation Given by PB ESI Chairman Budi Gunawan
The Indonesian Women’s MLBB National Team won a gold medal in the final results of the 2023 Women’s Mobile Legend SEA Games on Thursday (11/5/2023) evening. This result was achieved after defeating the Philippine National Team in the Final.
PBESI Deputy Secretary General Dr. I Gede Made Kartikajaya expressed his greatest appreciation for bringing home a gold medal in the MLBB e-sport division.
“I would like to thank all of you Gold medalists in Esport Mobile Legends Mobile Legends: Bang-Bang (MLBB) Putri. Achieved the highest achievement in the Cambodia Sea Games, “he said.
He also felt very proud of this achievement. This shows that PB ESI is successful in coaching its athletes to excel in world championships.
“I am extremely proud of you who have brought gold to Indonesia in the Esport branch,” he said.
In addition, the Central Executive of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI), Icuk Sugiarto said, the victory for the Indonesian MLBB women’s team was the first step in winning another gold medal at other international events.
“This victory will be a trigger for Indonesian esports athletes. Hopefully it won’t only win at the Sea Games but also at other international stages,” he said.
“Making this victory our challenge is that Indonesian esports can excel not only at the Asean level but at the Asian level and even at the world level,” he continued.
Meanwhile, one of the MLBB Indonesia women’s national team players Vivian said she was proud to be an e-sport athlete who was able to win a gold medal and carry the name of Indonesia.
“I feel very happy, proud and did not expect to be an athlete and be useful for the country,” said Vivian.
This achievement is the result of Budi Gunawan’s hard work as chairman of PB ESI in advancing the Indonesian e-sport ecosystem. With the gold medal won from the MLBB branch, it proves that Budi Gunawan has succeeded in advancing the e-sport ecosystem in Indonesia.
