The government has implemented various preventive and risk mitigation efforts to organize the 2022 Eid homecoming. All of this is for the sake of achieving Safe Homecoming and Healthy Homecoming.

Ahead of the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 2022, which is also a tradition for Indonesian people to go home, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has taken several preparatory steps to meet all the needs of transportation facilities and infrastructure for community mobility. Even from land, water to air travel, everything has been prepared.

In a joint working meeting with Commission V of the DPR RI on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, Budi Karya Sumadi as the Minister of Transportation stated that his party had maximized the use of trains, which currently have been ordered in quite a lot by the public. It is not only the availability that has been prepared, but all the feasibility has also been prepared optimally.

The Minister of Transportation added that a ramp check has been carried out on all modes of transportation to ensure the feasibility of using it. In addition, health checks have also been carried out for all human resources and will be subject to supervision regarding ticket prices later. Optimizing preparations for Lebaran homecoming in 2022 is also realized in various programs.

One of the programs that are the mainstay of the Ministry of Transportation is that the Government will provide full facilities for Eid home travelers for 2022, namely the Free Homecoming Program. Of course, this is intended to ensure the safety of the travelers themselves and is expected to reduce the number of travelers using motorbikes.

In fact, it will be a challenge for the Government because going home this year invites high enthusiasm from the community. The reason is that it has been about 2 years since the homecoming ban has continued to be enforced since the transmission of the Covid-19 pandemic occurred. However, at this time the pandemic has tended to be sloping and handled well. Therefore, the government even provides facilities for travelers.

Coordination continues to be carried out between the Ministry of Transportation and the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture as the coordinator of the 2022 Lebaran homecoming organizer. The most important element that will be pursued by the Government in this year’s Lebaran homecoming is the realization of Safe Homecoming and Healthy Homecoming.

Meanwhile, the government will also plan to regulate the flow of highways or traffic engineering through the Ministry of Transportation. Minister Budi Karya emphasized that his party had coordinated with the Korlantas Polri who would then be the executor of traffic engineering. Several regulations will be enforced, such as a one-way system, lane opening and closing, lane diversion and so on.

Various preparations have been made long ago to predict approximately the point of congestion will occur anywhere and how the engineering to be able to describe it. Of course all this is for the realization of a safe and smooth homecoming for the community. Budi Karya said that if the community continues to carry out smooth, safety and health protocol discipline, then going home will proceed as planned.

All of these optimizations, starting from preparing the availability of facilities and infrastructure to ensuring the feasibility of using them, continuously monitoring the health and readiness of the HR organizers for homecoming, strict supervision of ticket distribution and prices to traffic flow engineering, have all been prepared by the Government in a very mature and structured manner.

The implementation of the 2022 Eid homecoming is expected to run safely and smoothly as planned because all aspects have been carefully prepared. The public is also advised to always obey the directives of the Government and officers in the field because without the community’s compliance, the 2022 Eid homecoming policy will not run as expected.
