West Manggarai — All elements of society in West Manggarai Regency are strongly committed to contributing to the success of the 2023 ASEAN Summit which will be held in Labuan Bajo.
One manifestation of this commitment is that, on May 4 2023, a community organization (ormas) named Pemuda Manggarai Barat Bersatu (PMBB) was officially established.
It is known that the establishment of this organization is a form of initiative from the local community because they really want to realize the holding of the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo so that it can run safely and peacefully.
Then, at this time, there are already 100 members of the PMBB Ormas.
In forming the mass organization, PMBB Chairman, Robertus Agustinus Taufan also made several declarations.
Firmly, PMBB stated that they were ready to support the West Manggarai Regional Government in maintaining public order and security, especially in Labuan Bajo.
Not only that, but PMBB also has a duty to be able to create a sense of security and comfort for all people in West Manggarai.
Specifically, in the 2023 ASEAN Summit, this organization also has a duty to continue to maintain the good name of its region in the eyes of the world.
“Maintaining self-confidence, dignity and the dignity of the people of West Manggarai,” said the declaration.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Research Institute for Community Democracy (LPPDM), Marsel Nagus Ahang invited the whole community to work together to create a conducive situation.
This appeal was specifically given to all elements of society in Manggarai and West Manggarai Regencies ahead of the 2023 ASEAN Summit.
“Let’s together create a safe, peaceful and conducive Kamtibmas situation in Manggarai Regency and West Manggarai Regency ahead of the 2023 ASEAN Summit,” he said.
On the other hand, Chairman of the West Manggarai Indonesian National Youth Committee (KNPI), Hassanudin also admitted that he would support and succeed in holding this international event.
In addition, he also thanked the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo for choosing Labuan Bajo as the venue for the 2023 ASEAN Summit.
“I am ready to support and make the ASEAN Summit a success in Labuan Bajo, and thank the President for choosing Labuan Bajo as the venue for the ASEAN Summit,” he said.
This is because the election of the region as the venue for the meeting of heads of state in ASEAN has helped improve the welfare of the people themselves.
“By choosing Labuan Bajo as the venue for the ASEAN Summit, it will have a positive impact on the welfare of the people of Labuan Bajo,” explained Hassanudin.
