Young Generation to Guard the 2024 Election for the Realization of Advanced Democracy

Jakarta – The younger generation plays an important role in the success of the upcoming 2024 Election so that voters, especially millennials, increase in quality and quantity so as to create advanced democracy and inspiring role models.

Ahead of the 2024 Election, the millennial generation plays an important role in the successful implementation of the upcoming Election. The reason is, their voting rights are needed for a better and more advanced Indonesia, so they were asked to oversee the election this time.

This was supported by the Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security (Menkopolhukam), Prof. Dr. Mahfud MD in a talkshow. 
He asked the younger generation to use their right to vote wisely and participate in overseeing the election.

“The younger generation must guard this election so that our democracy will progress. Don’t leave it, if it’s not perfect, fix it,” he said in a talkshow at Graha Sabha Pramana.

Meanwhile, the General Election Commission (KPU) is intensively conducting outreach through various media, both directly and through social media. Of course, this aims to increase the quality and quantity of voters in the upcoming 2024 election.

Approaching a political year, of course, we cannot escape fake news made by irresponsible persons, such as the issue that has been circulating recently regarding the postponement of the General Election until 2029.

In fact, the government is still following the election schedule that has been determined together with the DPR, KPU, and the government which is planned to be held in February 2024.

Responding to fake news circulating, in one of the outreach activities held in Semarang, Novi Maria Ulfah as a Semarang City KPU member had the opportunity to convey the importance of the election information obtained.

“We also have to be wise and smart in receiving any information about the election so that we don’t participate in spreading hoax news or information that is not true,” he explained.

In fact, Mahfud MD also reminded the nation’s youth at this time to be able to filter the news they get so that they are not easily provoked by fake news or hoaxes out there regarding the 2024 Election.

“Never make hoaxes, let alone participate in spreading them because they can be subject to articles,” he said.

Along with this, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, Governor of DIY through his speech represented by KGPA Paku Alam X as Deputy Governor, wants the upcoming General Election to be held fairly and transparently so that young people have a leader as well as a role model.

“We want the election to be held in a fair and transparent manner so that the younger generation has an inspiring role model,” he said.
